allergy meds (or other ideas?) while BFing?

Dr.Sears' website claims that Benedryl, etc. are safe to take while BFing- has anyone done this? Will my LO get as drowsy as I do from the Benedryl?  My DS sleeps on me, so I can't be sneezing and blowing my nose all night!

I would love to skip the meds altogether if anyone has a better idea, too- TIA!

    I EBF and I have taken Benadryl once but just for an allergic reaction.  I didn't notice if it affected DS. 
    I take Nasacort and some other nasally-administered allergy med (I forget the name) and they're supposed to be safe while BFing. 
    Another idea is a saline nasal rinse like a Neti pot.
