So DD's diaper rash seems to have really taken a turn for the worst overnight. When I changed her diaper this morning, there were a few tiny bleeding cuts on her butt as well as the bright red flaming skin. Ever since we got home from the hospital we've tried using zincofax, pentene cream ans sudocream to try and settle the rash down but it doesn't seem to be working.
Does anyone have suggestions on another product or treatment that might help us out quickly? DD's Pedi'soffic eios closed until Monday so I won't be able to get any good medical advice until then.
TIA
Re: Help!..my 4 day old has a bleeding diaper rash:-(
This happened with DS in his first 2 weeks.
I was using Huggies wipes and changed to Pampers Sensitive. I was also using Beaudroz Butt Paste and switched to Aquaphor. Cleared up in about 2 days.
I also made very very very sure I cleaned him really well.
Hope this helps. I know it's tough to see their tender little skin all irritated!!
Yes, you might want to just use a wet cloth for now. After she's clean, I'd make sure she is really dry and apply vaseline. We were having a lot of problems early on with diaper rash and our pedi recommended vaseline. It has been great. Hope it gets better soon.
oh, poor baby! I use calmoseptine...its not in the baby section but one of its uses is diaper cream. Our pedi reccommended it to us. Its usually behind the pharmacy counter or right near it. The stuff is awesome. It lays on nice, not watery like some-make sure you put a lot on.
It may help to use a wet towel to wipe the baby's bottom clean for now and if you can let your baby air out(maybe lay the baby on a blanket for awhile with out a diaper on). Good luck!
This and stop with the wipes, use a wet rag, change brand of diapers, and get plenty of fresh air to it.
