BFing and supplementing

DS isn't gaining enough weight?no?He gained 1/2 ounce since Tuesday, so I think I'm going to have to supplement. The LC seems to think that my breast reduction damaged ducts in my right breast, b/c I'm producing so little on that side. (Left is fine) Anyone do this? Do you give formula after every feeding or in the place of feedings? DS seems to be satisfied after most feedings so I don't know how I'd give him formula afterwards. Help!

    I don't give formula after every feeding.  DS usually gets a bottle with formula before bed (because I don't have any left at this point) and first thing in the morning (because I pump to try and get some sort of freezer stash).  I nurse him all other times during the day in in the middle of the night.

    Izz, I started out bfing and supplementing for the same reason (DS wouldn't take though so he's strictly formula now). That said, the pediatrician had me feeding him every 2 hours and every other feeding giving him a 2 oz bottle (not forcing it on him but if he wanted it). Hope that helps!

    I have a low supply so Ped has me bfing for 10 min on each side then giving a 2-3oz bottle. DS is a much happier baby and he is sleeping for 3-4 hour blocks at night!!!
