  To me it's pretty clearly My-uh

  I think's it's an acceptable alternate spelling to Maya or Mya

  Thanks, ladies.  DH and I really like it spelled that way, and I wanted to see if most people would know how to pronounce it.

  Since Gaia is pronounced "GAY-uh," I'd hesitate, not sure if it's "My-uh" or "May-uh."

  Gaia is pronounced just like "Maya" which is how I'd pronounce "Maia."  You'll always have someone say it wrong, but i think it's safe for the majority of people.

  Sorry I would not.  If you were going for Maya I would just spell it that way.

  I would guess Maya, but I don't understand why, when there is an easy way to spell a name that has an obvious pronunciation,  you would deliberately choose another spelling that would confuse people.
