So, my LO is 9 weeks and 10 lbs I am pretty impressed with his sleeping: bedtime ~8pm wakes up between 2-3 to eat goes right back to sleep and then up again 3ish hours later and usually up for the day around 7am. The ped. said that most babies are STTN when they reach 12lbs. What is your experience with this? Just wondering if it is true in "the real world"
Thanks!
Re: Weight and STTN
Jude was sttn 2 months before reaching 12 lbs.
I should expand, he was sleeping from 9 pm-7 am by 10 lbs. He was giving us 6 hour shifts as soon as we stopped waking him for feedings at 2 weeks when he was 6 lbs.
I have to pull out the ::everybabyisdifferent:: dust here.
K is close to 18lbs (yes, he's a tank). Some weeks he'll STTN. Others he'll wake up at least once. I don't think his weight has anything to do with it.
My BFP Chart~
Yeah that is what I was thinking... and oops wasn't the ped. was actually the NP (we switch back and forth each visit)
Anyways no complaints here
DD has been STTN for a long time and she still isn't 12lbs.
In the beginning 3-4weeks she would sleep 11-5,6ish and then go back down until 8-9 (when I was on mat leave) now she goes down 9:30-10ish and I wake her around 7:30 for daycare, occasionally she will wake at 4,5ish for a quick snack and then go right back down
Our son is 10 weeks old, weighed 13.5 lbs. at 8 week appointment, goes down to bed around 8 pm, wakes up for a feed still some time between 1 am and 4 am and then is up again for the day some time between 5 am and 7 am (depending on when he woke up to eat overnight),
So technically he is STTN, but in my book, if we're still waking up, it ain't STTN.
