Anybody else have a problem with someone telling them where they need to register?? I'm registered at Walmart and also at a department store for some really cute clothes. I have an aunt is upset that I won't register at BRU and Target. Don't get me wrong....I LOVE LOVE LOVE those stores, but we live in a small town. The closest BRU and Target is over an hour away. I don't think it's fair to my family and friends to have to drive that far to get me gifts or for them to have to pay shipping when there is a Walmart 5 minutes away! And my aunt lives a block from me!! It's not like she's near them!! If she wants to drive that far to get me stuff then that's her choice and I appreciate it, but I'm not going to have a bunch of different registries going to make her happy!!! Grrrrrr.....
Ok I'm done now
Re: VENT: Being told where to register.....
When I told my BFF where we registered (Target and BRU), she instantly said "Well, forget BRU." I have no idea why. I don't think she has even been in one. The bulk of our registry is at BRU. She then called me and complained that we didn't have that much stuff on our Target registry (my family, if they choose to buy us something, have access to both Target and BRU).
She's mostly upset because Walmart doesn't carry the Dr. Brown bottles and she says those are the best and I need to have them and blah blah blah. I think she's just afraid to buy me anything I'm not registered for.
Oh that's like some of my special rude co-workers who decided that buybuybaby was "too expensive" to be registered at. They all sat around the lunchroom and told me that I should cancel both BBB and BRU, go register at Walmart instead.
I know for a fact my family wants to buy me nice things and they won't shop online. Target and Walmart did not have enough in-store stuff for me to register there.
I don't understand why people feel they have a right to comment. If they don't want to buy something from the stores, then don't!
lol - then make a BRU registry online and register for only the Dr. Browns stuff!
LOL. I got a lot of that for my wedding and baby shower. I didn't care. Sounds like you made very reasonable choices. (FWIW, until recently I lived 2 hours from the nearest BRU... I HATED it when people only registered there since I prefer to buy in-store).
I have one (child-less) aunt who was really bummed that I didn't register at BRU because she wanted the excuse to go there. (Which is already a little
) We actually did need some things that they carry, so I created a registry. She ended up buying us something not from BRU! That's fine, but I found it very funny.
