It's back there- I didn't see anything with a huge number of replies, if that's what you were looking for. Something about hospital standards and how everyone in the medical profession is a time-snaking, money-grubbing a-hole, never caring about patient needs (I'm paraphrasing, of course).
once you see what nurses put up with and do on a daily basis- you might feel differently. I'm all about bringing them food - we brought donuts and coffee every monrning when my DH came back from showering at home.
are all nurses "uncaring" and cold like you think this one is? No, of course not... but none like to be told how to do their job - hence- keep any BP simple and basic...
as for the whole circ thing- i don't know what hospitals you all go to- but they don't wisk the baby away and cut his penis the minute he is born --- that is done usually the day you are discharged... and is only done IF you request it..... so yeah- when you say something like that you sound like you are obviously a first time mom... at least first time mom of a boy.
I pink puffy heart nurses. I have nothing but 100% respect for what they put up with and do on a daily basis... i know i could never do that job - esp the long shifts they do.... same for doctors.
that is why my birth plan was "get epi, listen to nurse and doctor and trust their knowledge, have baby"... and it worked out great.

I'm not sure who you're responding to since no one in this post said anything about circumcisions or even about nurses in general...
I've got a birth plan (one page, 3 bulleted lists), but I was already planning on bringing some type of baked goods.
Those threads did concern me. But I have to say from experience of living with a Nurse: You don't always have to work directly with the patients. My mother is now in the administration field of nursing. She always remembers working directly with the patients and loved it. She will tell me that she wouldn't go back to it because of the long hours, which is understandable.
But I've always looked to the people in the medical field, like teachers, they don't get paid well, but have the patience to continue working their jobs because they LOVE it!
Personally, I feel that people should ask the Dr about the hospital you're going to deliver in. I did when I heard 2 stories about my hospital not being up to par in service. But when I brought it up with the Dr, he assured me that I was getting the best care because it is the lowest rate in c-sections, and the highest rate in labor and delivery care. He even gave me a website to check out the state rating. Thankful to say that I was happy I got this info. It also helped that my mother recommended it for the care.
Everyone is intitled to their opinions, and I respect them. I just feel no one should try and press those opinions onto others.
Re: Can someone please point me to the post that's causing all the commotion?
Ditto.

This post actually does scare me.

Me too.

This is such a thoughtful thing to do!! I will have to remember this and ask my DH or mom to do the same at least once while I'm there!
