Might be a stupid question...
My 7 week old has been sleeping through the night for about 4 days now (might just be a fluke thing). She goes down about 8:30 and will sleep until around 6. 10 HOURS!!! Should I be waking her to eat at some point? 10 hours is a long time. She doesn't even fuss so it's not like she wakes and I try and calm her back to sleep. This is something she has totally done on her own.
In addition she's not a very good dap napper. She might sleep 3 hours total and it's usually small cat naps. About 20 or 30 minutes a piece. Or one good 2 hour nap in my arms. This is probably why she sleeps so well at night. But again, should I be waking her earlier or putting her to bed later to help with her day naps? She generally gets fussy around 6 because of her lack of naps!
Thoughts??? Thanks ladies
Re: Sleep ???? - too much
L's been doing the same thing for over a week now.. she goes down between 830-930 and will sleep til almost 4.. I get nervous too but I am so happy.. that is perfectly normal.. I never wake to feed I just feed when she gets up.. Has your LO been going right back to bed after their am feeding? L goes til around 4.. eats, goes right back to sleep til 7-7:30 then wakes again around 9:30!!!
I would def try to get her down for naps by any means necessary... L sleeps much better when I hold her or when shes in the moby.. right now shes been sleeping for almost 2 hours in her swing.. I'd rather hold her for the 2 hours (even tho i know people frown on it) then deal with a fussy, pisssy baby! GL
Wake a sleeping baby, R U NUTS? lol....
The naps take a while to really develop and become regular. DD is over 3 months now and her regular morning nap is only just starting to get organized.
If she's hungry she'll wake up. For now ENJOY THE 10 HOURS OF SLEEP
And PS: I hate you
Once she wakes up around 6, she'll slam at least 5.5oz of formula. She'll stay awake for an hour tops then dozes back off for about 45 mintues.
I am trying everything to help her nap. Walks in the Bjorn or her stroller help, she likes the fresh air. I just feel like I am spending her whole day trying to get her to sleep! It's weird, great sleeper at night not so much during the day.
I know I am lucky! I swear sometimes my working husband is more beat then I am.
