Why do men always want to fix things?

I had a day from hell at work today, and dizzy spells to boot (including one while I was driving home....)

MH is at work and called while he was break so I tell him about my job and how much I hate it - it is Corporate hell in a nutshell.  Instead of just sympathising and listening he starts telling me what I should do and how I shouldn't have said anything to my boss and on and on and on...when I told him I really didn't need a lecture he hung up on me!!

I'm actually glad that he's not home until midnight because I really don't feel like talking to him now!

Re: Why do men always want to fix things?

  • Men are fixers, girlfriends are listeners... That's just the way it (usually) is.

  • Ugh, I hate that. When all you really need is a sympathetic ear and instead you get a million ways that you could do things differently. It must definately be a guy thing because my DH is the same way.

It's in their DNA, they just can't help it!  Knowing this, usually when I've had a bad day and need to vent, I usually let my DH know that I need to vent, and that usually curbs his tendancy to be Mr. Fixit.
