  I've read that 2 weeks old is the ideal time to get true newborn pictures done.

  we didn't have professional portraits until 7 weeks, but had a friend do some portraiture at our house at 3 weeks.  wish i would have done it sooner b/c at 3 weeks he was already hard to get into that newborn curl pose and was more alert (so crying and fussing) as we were posing him - they didn't turn out so great as we had to keep him wrapped up for most photos.

  She was a little over 3 weeks old.  We had planned on having them done at 2 weeks, but they got pushed back because she was in the nicu for 10 days.
