Working Moms

New Here--Just wanted to introduce myself

Good morning girls!  I'm Sara, work full time in property management, and Lily is 10 weeks old.  She was about 6 weeks early, and I burned most of my maternity leave by being on bedrest for 9 weeks before her early arrival.  I had pre-e that turned into HELLP pretty quick.  Anyway, she spent 13 days in the NICU and is a pretty good little girl.  She is feisty, for sure!!  :-)

My mom flew in from Missouri to stay with us for several weeks because I wasn't ready to send her to daycare.  She will be going within the next few weeks, and I am very nervous about it.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

  • Hi Sara! Welcome! This board can be rather slow but everyone is very supportive and nice. Sounds like you had quite a journey to motherhood! I am glad everything turned out okay though. Good luck with your return to work. Its nice that your mother can help you out for a bit.

  • Welcome! It is a slower board but you will find info that is helpful to you as a WM. Plus if you are having a mom-guilt day (we all do) you don't get the comments 'If you would just choose to stay home'. It helps a lot!
  • Welcome, I am glad that you and your DD are both doing well.  I am glad that your mom came to help.  Mom's are the best!  The board is great and we look forward to getting to know you.  One thing that I learned is that the anticpation of your child starting daycare is way worse the actual thing - you will all get into the routine and things will work out.

  • Welcome! Like someone already said it is a slower board but very supportive! I found it very helpful since most of my friends do not work so I found it was hard for them to relate to all my pressures as a working mom! It is a nice break in the work day sometimes to check in here especially on a difficult day! Congrats on your little one! I can relate  to the difficult, high risk pregnancy and I am glad everything is wellw ith you and your baby.
  • Welcome and ditto all of the pp's.
