Martha Stewart's show today was all about yarn, knitting, and crocheting. I was talking to mom on the phone throughout it, since she crochets, and it was fascinating to see the stuff people can make out of yarn.
So... poll question: Are you crafty?
My answer: I loved doing kids crafts when I was babysitting and nannying, but the only thing I do now is sew sometimes. I've made some quilts in the past but haven't had much time to do anything with it lately. But I'd love to make a quilt for the baby once we find out whether it's a boy or girl.
Re: Are you crafty?
I got really into knitting when I was in college, but I can only do straight things (aka scarves). I sewed together a bunch of scarve stripes to make a blanket for DH once, and then after that I was sick of knitting.
I tried to pick up crochet a few months ago because I heard it was faster and easier. It was, but I didn't really feel inspired to make anything. Eh, maybe I'll make some scarves or blankets for Christmas.
I feel like craftiness "strikes" me from time to time, and then I get ADD and move on to something else. Oh well.
Yep, I think I'm pretty crafty. It's generally trial and error, but I get stuff done. I can knit, crochet, sew (a little), make a decent invite or card, scrapbook, I made damn near everything for my wedding and helped with Mrs. S's (including making her veil, that was a PITA).
I always feel good when I finish a project. I don't always finish them though.
I worked at acmoore for a grand total of 7 years so I like to think of myself as pretty crafty. I was a floral designer, cashier, cust service, and stockgirl. I still do scrapbooking, make wreaths, and did most of the crafty stuff for my wedding.I also make sheep costumes for pageants, lol.
my mom used to quilt in her 'free time,' I'd love to be able to do that, but I don't think I'll have any free time in the near future. I think she still has all the stuff... but I don't own a sewing machine, so the odds and ends that need to be sewn around my house are done by hand.

I made my own invites and programs too! It was so fun (except we were still tying bows on the programs the night before the wedding)
I am a total craft whore.
I even have a whole blog dedicated to my crafts, I do craft fairs - and I'm trying to turn it into a business. I mostly do paper crafting - greeting cards, scrapbooks, and other fun stuff.
maybe someday when I'm not paranoid about being discovered IRL on here I will share my blog with you wonderful ladies
I'd say I'm fairly crafty if I apply myself. I'm more into graphic design stuff though. I designed our wedding invites and programs, along with basically everything else we did for the wedding. I also love drawing.
Okay, so maybe it depends
I can have a great time doing arts and crafts sort of things, but I've never quilted or knitted anything. It would be so cool to make a baby quilt though. What kinds of fabrics/materials are you going to use for it?
