Re: *~*~* Weekly Check In---6/3/09 *~*~*

  • Update:  Currently waiting to O.  I am having a good amount of EWCM so hopefully it will be soon!  I am going OOT Saturday - Tuesday so I am really hoping we don't miss our opportunity this month.  We are starting our sex-a-thon tonight!

QOTW:  How did you know you were ready to start TTC? Were you always certain you wanted a child, or did you have to think about it?

I always knew I wanted to be a mother.  I was ready as soon as DH and I got married.  DH was a little harder to convince.  He thought he was too selfish to be a good dad.  After a year of being married I could tell his mindset was changing.  He started pointing out babies he saw when we were out shopping, he talked about what kind of dad he wanted to be, ect.  Finally he told me he was ready and we started TTC.  I am so glad we waited for his timeframe because he is a great father!  He is so excited to TTC #2.

  • Update:  I'm at the end of AF, basically spotting now.  I should O sometime next week.  I am trying a CBEDOT this cycle.  I get to start POAS on Monday! I'm also watching my CM...hopefully we'll have good timing again this cycle.

    QOTW:
How did you know you were ready to start TTC? Were you always certain you wanted a child, or did you have to think about it?

I have always known I wanted to have children.  I did not feel ready to start TTC until DH and I got married.  Then I felt ready.  But, I knew he wasn't ready.  So, we talked about it and decided that we'd wait at least until our first anniversary to start trying...but also that we'd revisit the topic before our anniversary to make sure he would feel ready.  And he was! He just needed a little time to adjust to all the changes - going from bachelor to married life...moving to a new house...etc.  Now we're settled in our house, we did some travelling...he's ready and excited about the whole thing, and so am I!

  • Update: Waiting to O and starting OPK's tomorrow.  Decided to get the digital ones this month so I'm hoping for that smiley face and praying that it leads to a BFP!  Smile

QOTW: I've always known I wanted to be a mother but never thought I'd get to that point until I finally met and married DH about 4 years ago now.  We've crossed paths on the being ready to TTC the past few years but met on that same road last fall and we're staying there!  As far as how did I know-such a hard question.  I guess I can say that when the baby fever ended and the longing for a baby, for a family, didn't (if that makes any sense) I knew I was really ready.

    Ok...crying now...  Crying

  • QOTW:  I always knew I wanted to be a mommy since my Mom had my sister when I was 6 years old.  As my Mom says my sister was my real live baby doll.  It didn't take us long to start trying as I was 36 when we got married and DH was turning 43.  As soon as I finished my BCP after the wedding we started trying.

Update: I'm 2dpo and feeling anxious about the whole thing.  I haven't decided whether to go back to the RE after this cycle (3rd trying) or not.  I'll be discussing it with DH after we 'see' the RE at his celebration of families picnic this Saturday.

How did you know you were ready to start TTC? Were you always certain you wanted a child, or did you have to think about it?

I always knew I wanted to be a Mom.  Since I was 36 when I got married my DH and I knew we wanted to start our family A.S.A.P.  We got PG on our very 1st try and now have a beautiful DD who is now 3.  I waited a little too long for #2 and it's not going so smoothy.  1st try for #2 resulted in a BFP then m/c.  Attempts #2, #3 seem as if sperm meet egg but didn't stick for a BFP:(  We'll keep trying for now.

  • Hello!

Still impatiently waiting for our 1st ultrasound and wondering if there will be one or two heartbeats. Have only peed on two sticks this week. ?Maybe it is finally sinking in.

QOTW: ?We always knew we wanted to be parents. ?In fact I left my first husband when he decided he just didn't want to be a dad. ?It was the hardest thing to leave, but now that DH and I are so much happier and finally pregnant I know it was worth the pain. ?We started trying the minute we were married, and to be completely honest, I am sure many younger women would have gotten pregnant sooner with as sloppy as we were about birth control prior to marriage. ?That should have been my first clue that we would need a lot of help!?

  • Update: cd4 starting bcp today as we move forward with IVF

QOTW:  How did you know you were ready to start TTC? Were you always certain you wanted a child, or did you have to think about it?

I always felt like I wanted to be a mom...but only with DH did I realize how much I wanted to have a family with him...it was like I was not really ready until him...and he feels the same way.  We never talked about the "if we have kids"...it was always "when we have kids".

  • Hi,

I'm waiting to O any day now! I was actually on the verge of tears and really depressed all day because I have a weird feeling that I am not going to O this cycle. I have been Oing ever since I starting charting; at least the charts say so. I could still cry now if I just think about it.

QOTW: I wasn't sure until I got together with my husband now. My first husband was so immature (I was too) that I just never wanted kids with him.  Now, I just turned 38 and am really afraid something is wrong. We are going to get tested for whatever 'entry-level' fertility tests are out there.

    Thanks for reading.

  • How did you know you were ready to start TTC? Were you always certain you wanted a child, or did you have to think about it?

DH has always wanted children, I'm much more on the fence.  I feel like the timing's sort of "now or never" (especially since he wants 2)  I know once I'm pg, I'll be ecstatic and will be a wonderful mother.  I think part of my difficulty is that I placed my first born for adoption so I spent a lot of that pregnancy (and after) distancing myself and now a part of me is afraid I won't be able to bond when the baby's mine to take home from the hospital (sorry if that was an overshare)

Who is in the 2WW? Me.  I'll be testing between Monday and Wednesday.  I'm driving myself crazy analyzing every symptom.

  • How did you know you were ready to start TTC? Were you always certain you wanted a child, or did you have to think about it?

We wanted to TTC for #1 the Jan after we got married, but were forced to start a little early when Dr. took me off BCP after I missed 2 consecutive AF's and was not pg.  I have always wanted children and was discouraged things took so long to happen for us but on June 12, 2006, all that waiting, anxiety, worrying turned into the most beautiful thing, my son.

We wanted to ttc for #2 in end 2007, but my cycles were completely out of whack, so Dr. put me back on BCP for a few months, then I came off bcp in May '08, we haven't officially been trying or timing sex until now, but we do know it does take us time, and a solid week of sex to get pg. ;-p

  • Thanks for this weekly check in, hav2run.  It's great seeing and hearing how everyone is doing.

Remember when birthdays were fun?!?  I just "celebrated" my 37th last month so I just my listing will need to be updated.  I think the Birthday Fairy must be Aunt Flo's bitchy cousin.

QOTW-  We never wanted children until about 4 years ago.  DH and I went to a family picnic where young families were everywhere.  At the end of the day, I looked across the park and saw Dh holding one of the kids, we locked eyes, and we just knew.  But we decided that we would hold off for a year or so to be sure that we really wanted to be parents and that it just wasn't a fleeting moment in the after-glow of a great day.  Needless to say, it's been years later and we still want to grow our family.  Of course, if I would have known it could take this long, we would have started sooner.

  • Update: I am in the 2ww, but considering how early I O'ed, I know this isn't our cycle.  Oh well. Makes for an easy 2ww. I go in for the prog test on Monday.  Once AF arrives, I will start the rest of the tests.

QOTW: I didn't know until recently that I wanted a child(ren).  DH and I were both a little on the fence. After our wedding in November, I went off BCP and we thought we would just see what happened. After a couple of months, we talked about it again and decided we really do want to be parents so we actively started TTC.  Funny that just a few months ago, I wasn't sure I wanted to be a mom and now I want it more than anything.

  • I'd like to be added to the checkin.

    FloridaKat, FL, 37 - TTC #1 Since 5/07

QOTW: We adopted a dog together three months into dating each other, and picked out a breed that would be compatible with children. Point being, we knew pretty early on we wanted to have kids together.

Update: HSG and CT scan this week, need to have Lap/Hysteroscopy ASAP.

  • Update:

Currently in the 2ww. I disagree with ff and think I am 2dpo and not 4dpo. We shall see.

    QOTW:

I don't know exactly. I certainly had to think about it. DH has always wanted kids. It took me longer to get on board. It was probably relative to my age and knowing we should get started.

  • Update:

TTC #1, Cycle #2. I am post AF currently and am charting for the first month. I've had 2 temps in the 96's already and am wondering if I'm doing this right or not! I have regular cycles (28-29 days) and I went off BC last year sometime after being on it forever. I remember coming off BC at that time and halfway through my first cycle without it being like 'what the heck is all this goo coming out of me?!' LOL I had to google it just to make sure what it was. That was my first experience I could remember with EWCM. (Sorry for the TMI, but it was pretty funny!) I anticipate I will O next Friday (june 12) so hopefully there are some ladies in here that can be 2WW buddies :-)

    QOTW:

I was never sure I wanted kids until I found my husband. After being in 2 long term so-so relationships that didn't make me happy, I figured I was destined to never be a mom. I met DH four years ago this month and I knew from the moment I saw him that we were meant to be together. We've been married 1.5 years and decided last month we wanted to TTC. He is younger than me so we're hoping his 'super sperm' make up for my 'mature eggs'.

Thanks for doing these updates, it is nice for me to be able to see where everyone is at and get to know the group. I've been lurking for awhile and I think you all are great :-)

  • Update: waiting for my bleeding to start in full after confirming my pregnancy is not viable.  Will be setting up appt. w/RE to discuss next steps.  Not the best place to be at the moment. : (

QOTD: I've always wanted to be a mom.  Waited awhile after we were married to finish school, enjoy being just a couple, etc. and then of course it took awhile.

  • QE2QE2 member

Update: Embryo retrieval was this morning. 13 rock stars retrieved. Now waiting for the fertilization report, which will come tomorrow. Embryo transfer will be Sunday, Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on the quality. Beta will be June 18th.

QOTW: I always had the feeling that I wanted children, just not "now". It was always something I wanted to do later in life. Well later came pretty quickly. Also, DH wanted to finish his residency and boards and I wanted to finish grad school before the insanity started. I sometimes want to give myself the kick in the butt for waiting.

TTC since 3/08 DOR, High FSH, Hypothyroid, Uterine Polyps, blocked tube, MFI, 5 rounds of clomid, 5 IVF attempts, 2 hysteroscopies, 2 natural conceptions=2 losses (Methotrexate, D&C) Successful DE cycle twins born 10/7/11 Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • Update:  CD20.....still can't get a bloody + on the OPK!  U/S on CD11 shows one lonely follie that looked ready to realease and another smaller follie.  My BD timing is totally off b/c I can't tell when I'm O'ing and I'm getting frustrated.  I have 1st appt. with RE next Tuesday......hopefully I'll get some answers and advice!

    QOTW:

I never really gave much thought to having children when I was younger......I wasn't one of those "I always wanted to be a mommy" types.  The older I got, and with the passing of my own mother (and father), I realized how much I wanted that bond with my own children......how much I had to pass along to them.

  • Update:  Hopefully, I'll be ovulating next week.  Not sure after the CP.  Also waiting for my CD3 tests results, CD21 looked pretty good.  I have scheduled my first RE appointment for July 9.  Unless, of course, I get a sticky BFP this cycle !!  (Hint to the fertility gods . . .)

QOTD:  Always, I think.  Just married later than most and didn't want to do it before then.

  • Update- Cd11 and just waiting to O. i have had a headache for the past couple of days and alot of cramping for the past 2 days no fun at all. this is our break cycle no clomid this month.

QOTD- we started talking about it way before we got married and started than. He has a kid so i just dont know why we dont have one and i am fine with everything. I have kids and i always wanted one more.

  • Update:

I'm in the 2ww after my first IUI.  I'm taking the lovely prometrium pills vaginally this time, which is helping with the side effects.  I'm crazy tired all the time, but I know this is because it's the end of the school year and my middle school students and their parents are running me ragged.

    QOTW:

I always knew I wanted to be a mom, but I really never thought about what it would be like.  Even now, it's hard for me to envision.  Teaching middle school kids is really good BC, so I tend not to romanticize being a parent as much.

I am LMAO at Aunt Flo's bitchy cousin!  I can certainly relate to that sentiment.  I will update your info!

  • QOTW:  I always thought I'd have a family but I really don't think I was ever really in a hurry though. Then DH and I met and it is what we both wanted and so we waited about 9 months after our wedding to TTC because we aren't getting any younger.

I'm in the 2ww just barely. So I've got quite the wait ahead of me.

  • UPDATE: I'm hoping AF doesn't show up this weekend or soon after, but I'm starting to feel like she will - physically, I mean. A little crampy, etc. This is Cycle #6. I made an appointment with an RE for June 24. I'd be thrilled to have to cancel it!

QOTW: When I was a kid, I figured I'd eventually have kids, because that's what people do, right? Then when I got older, I did not want kids. I liked them, but I didn't want any of my own. In hindsight, I think that this was because I didn't ever think I'd find someone I wanted to have kids with. I had terrible taste in/luck with men. And then I met DH. And as we fell in love, I realized I wanted to have kids with him. We've been married for almost three years, and were both on the fence about starting to TTC until about 6 months ago. if biology were not an obstacle, we would want to wait a few more years.  But we started to think it was now or never. So, here we are!

  • 5w5d pregnant.  First u/s scheduled for June 17th.  Got lab results back from my appt. at 16DPO.  Beta was 1331 and they found out that I have an asymptomatic UTI.  Prescribed a weeklong course of antibiotics...started on Monday.  Today, I have a yeast infection and started spotting.  Doc says spottin is due to the infection and to treat it with OTC Monistat.  I am praying she's right.  I am feeling cranky and a little worried.

How did you know you were ready to start TTC? Were you always certain you wanted a child, or did you have to think about it?

DH was ready long before me.  I turned 34 and it kind of hit me like a ton of bricks.  We had planned to TTC this summer, but got a jump start and began in March.  Good thing, since the next cycle I got pg.  Now, I just pray that this little one sticks!
