Fisher Price Jumperoo

DS is 7.5 months old...is it worth it to get him a Jumperoo at this point? I kinda need another "occupier" for upstairs...and he is on the taller side - do you think it's worth it or will he outgrow it too fast - how long did your DC stay in it for - thanks!!!

Re: Fisher Price Jumperoo

  • I would says yes. C loves it but can just now barely touch the floor. He'll be in it for awhile before he outgrows.

  • You would maybe get about 2 months out of it depending on weight and height.
  • DD started pulling up on everything at 7.5 months, so she no longer liked it after that point! We still kept it out and she would play with it on the outside standing up, but there are a zillion other things she could stand and play with, so it wouldn't have been worth the money for us at that point. All she wanted to do was crawl and pull up, so the Jumperoo was like torture for her! ;)

DS is just now starting to like his, so I'd say it's never too late. We put his 11mos cousin in it the other day too and he still had a blast. I don't know if I'd pay full price for one at this point, though. I'd try craigslist if you can.
  • Definitely don't pay full price for it... the weight limit is 25 pounds and the height limit is 32 inches - not sure where your DS fall in those ranges.  My DS is 8.5 months and not quite at either limit but he doesn't seem to enjoy it as much anymore.

  • DD will still go in it @ 11 months, but she doesn't enjoy it as much as she did the first month we got it.  We got ours when she was around 8 months old.  She LOVED it for the first month, then she wouldn't jump in it as much the 2nd month, but was still entertained by the toys.  That's pretty much how she still feels about it.  She will play in it for about 15 minutes tops, so enough for a quick shower for me :) That's what I use it for every day.

It does have a 32 inches, 25 pounds limit on it.  DD is at about 28 1/2 inches and 20 pounds now, so she still has some time left in it :)  It as 89 bucks new I think.  Kinda pricey for something she only used for a month, but hopefully we'd use it for a 2nd child and if not, I could probably give it to a friend or something.

I don't know if you have an excersaucer, but DD loves this one...https://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5412495.  That's this years model, she has last years model, but it's almost exactly the same.  It's really cool because they can walk around in a big circle, so it's like a walker but without the danger or falling down the stairs or something and then when they've outgrown the walk around part, that part comes off and it's just the activity table.  It was cheaper than the jumperoo and she will seriously play in this thing for a good hour.  She's only on the 2nd height adjustment now, so she still has one more to go up.

  • My daughter doesn't even touch the floor yet and she still loves it.  I guess it depends on your baby's size.
