Or what stuff do you still need???
I'm feeling really unprepared latley. The nursery is mostly ready- we still need a mattress, so the bedding is not in yet but everything else is pretty much done. Our rocker came in, so we just have to pick that up at the store, which we will hopefully do today and I just sterlized the bottles and paci's and put those away. All her clothes (that I have) are washed and put away.
But we still need some big stuff like PNP, stroller, snap and go, and mattress. I was hoping to get some big stuff and some small stuff like, the stroller and maybe diapers, burp clothes, towels, swaddle blankets, ect. (we don't have any of that stuff) from my shower but it was postponed.
Starting to freak a little. I know it will all be okay- but just wondered how the rest of you are doing. How about things like preparing meals and freezing them, or installing carseat and getting your bag all packed. When are you doing those things?
Re: 35+ weekers- what do you still have to do???
I have everything I need except nipples for my Avent bottles. I am also looking to see if they make a matress pad for my bassinet. I just really need to organize the baby's room! My stepdad is bringing down the awesome changing table he made for me (with lots of storage), so I plan to organize this weekend.
I am a teacher and summer break started today so I am going to work on meals, installing the carseat, and packing my bags. Probably not until next week though because today I am going to a play, tomorrow a funeral, then a friend is coming over Friday. On second thought, maybe she will help me organize!
We had our final shower last week (1 friends, 1 family, & both dh & I's work) and now have everything we registered for.
We've taken the childbirth, infant care, & breastfeeding classes.
Tomorrow we get Maternity photos taken, & next Monday we go to the hospital & get our car seat bases installed.
My bag has 2 nursing gowns, a robe, & slippers but that is all so far ~ still have to finish that up & add DH's things.
I'm still trying to get all baby clothes, sheets, blankets, etc. washed & put away, go stock up on snacks, frozen meals, & juices, get exercise ball & massage tools for labor, and have both cars cleaned & detailed before we install car seats next week.
This is baby #2 for me, so I haven't done half of the stuff you listed above - I am not doing a nursery because our house is on the market and we have tons of baby stuff from DS. (mostly in storage in our basement)
I have washed clothes and I have some diapers. I found the infant carseat and it is ready to be installed in my car. I am not washing any bottles because I am breastfeeding.
I still need to pack for the hospital. I will set up a pack and play in our living room and the Arm's Reach cosleeper in my room, but I might wait until after the baby comes home and DH can do that.
Please don't worry! You will not be a prisoner after the baby is born and can go get whatever you need. If you don't get those things done before baby is here, it might be a welcome excuse to get out of the house.
Well...we just put an addition on our house, so we are waiting for rugs to be installed before I can even move furniture into the nursery! We have everything ready, but can't put it in til the rugs are done...YIKES!
I washed all the baby clothes, sheets, blankets this week. Still have to install carseat. I have picked up enough diapers, wipes, diaper rash cream, baby Tylenol, pads (for me
)...stuff like that this week. Still have to pack bag for the hospital, but I will probably not do that for a couple more weeks.
You will be fine!! GL
We still need to get some stuff, like: extra crib sheets (we have the bedding set, but I want more than one set of sheets), bottles, receiving blankets, pad for changing table, & diaper bag. But I think we have enough clothes, diapers (for now), wipes, burp clothes, wash clothes, shampoo/body wash, etc.
We got alot of it from our shower (which was 2 weekends ago now)...so that helped make me feel a little more prepared. So now, I'm just waiting for the 10% off completion coupon from BRU to get final items from there. I'm going to pack my hospital bag this weekend so that will be ready to go.
We already have both car seat bases installed in our 2 vehicles. We put the Travel System car seat base in DH's truck, since it's what we drive the most. And we bought a convertible car seat that is in my car. We took the truck up to the fire department and they inspected it, everything is good to go with that one. We still need to have my car checked.
All his clothes are washed and put away (in drawers or hanging up). We actually got our PNP off of Craigslist.com, which I would HIGHLY recommend you take a look at. Ours is basically brand new (the couple used it maybe 2-3 times), and we got it for $25.00!!!! So, check there for stuff like that. Good luck!
Clean the entire house...which I am kind of waiting a few weeks to do because it'll just get dirty again.
Get the car seat installed and inspected.
Finish packing my hospital bag.
I have my second shower this weekend, and that will give me a better idea of what odds and ends I have to get.
Ok, I had the same feeling so I wrote out a To Do list last week...
I have to...
Finish painting and decorating her toy box
Finish her Christmas stocking that I'm making to match DH' mine and the dogs... (yes, my dog has a hand made stocking!)
pack hospital bag
install and have car seats inspected
clean dog hair out of car
give the dog a bath
hang everything on the walls in the nursery
write Thank you notes for the showers I havn't had yet
clean any remaining cloths/blankets I get from my showers and take back and items I don't need
And get the things I still need if not gotten for my next shower-crib mattress, wipes case, 2 auto mirrors to see rear facing baby, changing pad covers, a brush and a sleep positioner (if I decide to get that)
It feels very overwhelming to know I only have a month left to get all this done in!

I haven't had a shower yet (thats at 38 weeks... scarey!) so I feel complelety unprepared! The nursery is mostly done with the exception of some wall decor and all the cloths I have so far are washed and put away. I don't have a carseat, stroller, PnP, bottles.... I couldn't go on and on about what I don't have yet and feel that I need before baby's arrival! I haven't packed my hospital bag yet, probably won't for a few weeks yet either. I do have the paperwork for Short term diability and FMLA ready to go and be filled out when I have the baby though! So much to do yet! yikes!
