we started with Similac Advanced with early shield but it was too harsh on his little belly so we switched to Emfamil Gentlease. This was at about 4 weeks old though. We use Target brand gentlease now.
We use Similac Advance w/ Early Shield. That's what they had in the NICU, and it's what we used with DS (minus the Early Shield), so that's just what we started out on. We thought about switching her when she had reflux, but pedi said he wasn't sure it would help.
DS has reflux issues. He also has a soy intolerance. He would take all of it. He just didn't tolerate it well. The Good Start only has the whey protein and not lactose thus making it closer to BM. Also, we tried transitioning to powder and he didn't tolerate that either. The GI said it's probably because of the Corn Starch in powder formula. She thinks he will outgrow that intolerance within the next few months.
We started on Similac Advanced w/Early Shield and DD did really well on it but lately they've been really skimping on sending formula checks so we switched her to Parent's Choice Older Infants formula at around 8-9 months and never had any trouble.
We use Similac Go and Grow but we started with Advanced 2 months ago. I did try the organic and one of the other?varieties?but eventually settled on this
They started DS on Enfamil Lipil with iron in the hospital, and we stuck with it. Tried to switch to generic a couple of times, but didn't work. He likes the good stuff
Re: FFers- what formula do you use?
wow - why so many?? would he not take them??
We use Target brand soy formula. It's the same exact thing as similac soy just a lot cheaper.
after BM I have been using up all the free samples, DD can tolerate them all pretty well.
I like goodstart the best,
We use Enfamil Genrlease.
We have tried regular Enfamil, Good Staet and Kirkland brand. The Gentlease didn't constipate him or make him projectile vomit.
