Minnesota Babies

car seat safety check locations/advice

Has anyone brought their car seat to a police or fire station to have it inspected?

I called my local police station today to ask if they have this service and they told me no. I then called 311 and they gave me the number of a clinic in Minneapolis, but they are booked out until August! I went to the 'buckle up kids' website and the phone number for the police station in S. Mpls that is supposed to do checks is incorrect. Stations in some of the suburbs state that they only serve those cities. Aaauuuggghhh

Where else can I go? I live in NE Mpls.?

?TIA?

  • I'm certified. I could meet you somewhere and help you install it if you'd like

Thank you for the offer! I was actually able to make an appointment with a police station for next week.

I think we installed the car seat correctly, I just feel like the angle isn't correct. It seems like my DS is sitting upright too much...but maybe that is the way it is supposed to be. He can keep his head back against the head rest when he is awake, but when he falls asleep, his head drops forward. Maybe I am too worried and that is just what happens when babies (and adults) fall asleep.

  • If you appointment falls through you can always check on the BRU site ...I know that every spring/summer they have inspections in their parking lots. ?

Hope your inspection goes well. ??
