Fave place for an OR coast getaway?

We already went on a babymoon to Maui but want to plan something for the summer, perhaps a weekend at the coast.  Any suggestions?

Re: Fave place for an OR coast getaway?

  • Depends on what you like to do.  If you're more into getting away from it all, maybe somewhere like Netarts or North Bend.  Plenty of camping, hiking and that sort of stuff.

Or if you like somewhere busier with more entertainment (wine tasting, art galleries, ect), I suggest Lincoln City, Seaside or Newport.

  • I second the poster above. DH and I really enjoy Lincoln City, Astoria is even nice too.
  • Where do ya'll recommend staying?  Any fave resorts, inns, bed and breakfasts or condos?
  • We loved our stay at the Hallmark Inn at Cannon Beach (HallmarkInns dot com). We had a jacuzzi tub in our room and a beautiful view of Haystack rock! Just a short stroll into the small town. Really a nice getaway...

  • Our favorite place is Cannon Beach.  We ALWAYS stay at one of the Inn at Haystack Rocks places.  They own a lot of properties in Cannon Beach.  I think the website is something like haystack lodging or something like that.  LOVE IT!

  • We stay at the SurfSand in Cannon Beach, it's amazing and all the rooms are brand-new.  Gorgeous rooms, right on the beach, it's an amazing time.  The bathtub is big enough for 2 people, and you open up the screen door in the room, and you can see the beach from the bathtub!  I love it. We stay there several times a year, and are going the end of June for our anniversary.

  • When we head to the coast, we always stay at Sandlake Country Inn.  We have stayed there several times and it's awesome.  I recommend it to everyone!

I have also blogged a couple of times about our experience there.  If you click into my Cooking Blog under Misc, there are two entries (you might need to scroll back) about our stay.

  • I stayed at the Nantucket Inn and really liked it. The rooms are nice, and it's right on the beach. It's in the mid-coast.

I like to visit Cape Kiwanda, in the north-coast. I've never stayed there, but there is a hotel on the beach.

  • We have stayed at the Inn at Manzanita and at the Rosebriar Inn in Astoria and really liked both places.
  • We've stayed at The Inn at Spanish Head just south of Lincoln City. It's right on the beach. The restaurant on the top floor, Fathoms, is really nice (especially at sunset!) I've also heard Salishan is really nice too, but we've never stayed there.

  • The Stephanie Inn in Cannon Beach. Very nice, romantic, they have great packages and and excellent restaurant..downside is that it is pricey. We can t wait to go again.
  • My husband and I love Lincoln City, we actually rented a huge house there for our honeymoon.  Impractical I know, but we loved the hot tub on the roof top deck that gave us a great view of the ocean.  Renting a home is a good way to go if you want a more home-like get-away where you can make your own meals and hang out in a living room watching movies if the weather is crappy.
  • I vote for the Inn at Spanish Head as well.
  • Starfish Manor in Lincoln City!  VERY romantic and quiet!
