I should clarify that I did not mean in text message. I meant in other formats, like this forum (oh and the employee I had that gave me notes with 'UR" in them).
And before I hear the next excuse, if you have a phone that can get you to TheBump.com then it more than likely has a full keyboard and you can type the word out.
If you are using a keyboard, there is NO excuse for typing anything like "ur", or "imma", nor is there an excuse for CONSTANTLY forgetting to capitalize. This drives me nuts. It makes people look silly, immature and downright stupid.
It makes me more upset when people use the wrong form of your and you're. One of my colleagues (who is an English teacher!) confuses the two all the time! Ugh, I'm scared of our educational system.
This annoys the hell out of me too. It honestly takes me longer to read things that have these stupid abbreviations than if it was the entire word. Honestly, it's not that difficult to type the whole thing.
