Two Under 2

Phil & Ted users/future users

Yay for this board!!

So, I was kind of excited to look at the P&T but when we put DD in the lower seat she was easily able to reach down and stick her fingers in the wheels. I don't know how I'd keep her from doing that when using the stroller and she won't be old enough to "listen" and not do that, KWIM?

Anyway, I thought I'd post around here and see what others think about it. Costco had a great deal on them and had I not just found this out, I would have bought it :(?

If you have it.. how do you keep your child from sticking his/her fingers in there?

And if you don't have it yet... then it's just a PSA and something to look for, lol?

Re: Phil & Ted users/future users

  • A good friend of mine has the P&T and has had this problem. I also have noticed that with two kids in it there is no storage. Not even a place to hang a diaper bag without it hitting someone. I ended up going with a duallie bob instead for those reasons.

  • We thought for sure we'd get a Phil & Teds, but my daughter was already outgrowing the double's seat when she was 20 mos. old (she's pretty tall). Plus, my DH is 6'4" and he kept kicking the back of the stroller when he tested it out. It just wasn't going to work for us. We tried both the sport and Vibe models. The Vibe was better, but it still didn't work for us. We ended up purchasing the Bumbleride Indie Twin and couldn't be happier. Not only is it great looking, we live in the city and it is super easy to push and it fits through every door we've encountered so far.
  • We bought the P&T Dash Double and returned it! Not only because of the finger in the wheel issue, but also because the child in the back basically has their feet in the storage basket and TWO pieces arrived broken. I am not spending that much money for something that broke so easily during shipping. Imagine the wear and tear with two children?

We ended up that same weekend walking into REI during their 20% off sale and bought the BOB Revolution Duallie. I swore up and down that this was the ugliest stroller I had ever seen and very awkward (meaning wide). I said I would never own one, but after a test drive with DS in one side and the fact that we can put DD in her car seat and have DS on the other side I was sold. The P&T was not car seat compatible with a toddler so I was not happy about that.

  • I didn't even think of the hand in the wheel issue. As far as the diaper bag goes, I just toss in my diapees case. For the most part, I just use my P&T in stores and could run out to the car if need be.
  • I LOVE my Sport double so much.

The wheels came with guards. The basket is not hard to get to but I got the saddle bags and can wear them as a backpack if I choose. It is easy to use, DH and I are both very tall and hands down my favorite baby purchase.

I do not have any of the issues mentioned.

The best thing only P&T can do: be a single or a double in a heartbeat.I am not stuck with a double stroller all the time. AND it fits my snugride and toddler at the same time.

Used it daily for almost 2 years and still is fantastic. I think that stroller has 1400 miles on it at least.

And diva, the smaller child goes in the jump seat, not the toddler.
