What's the obsession with the name Rowan?

I don't understand it. Also, is it pronounced like this: "I'm rowin' the boat." ?

    Meh. I don't get most name obsessions. In the time I've been on the nest we've moved from Emma, to Madison, to Isabella, to Harper. lol

    That's how I Pronounce it.  I didn't realize there was an obsession.  My good friend is pregnant with #2 and it's a boy and Rowan was her #2 name.  Personally I don't like it.  It sounds like a character from "Lord of The Rings". She is going to name her son Finn.  Her first son's name is Hunter.

    An obsession with this name is news to me.  It was on my list for DD #1, but DH vetoed it.  :(

    I personally don't like it but I don't like a lot of the names that I see these days, but to each their own.
