Is this true? I've heard this several times recently. I hope this is true because my cycles are usually as short as they can get and extremely regular. And my docs did say they think I would be early.
The length of your menstrual cycle doesn't matter. Your O date matters. Women with short menstrual cycles generally ovulate before day 14 though. This means that you're actually a few days (or possibly even a week) further along than what's calculated by your LMP. If you had a dating u/s though it would negate this since they're more accurate than charting or dating by LMP.
ditto about the O date. I had somewhat shorter cycles and when I entered all my info to calculate my due date based on this, it put me several days sooner than the standard 40-weeks away date my OB gave me. sure enough at every U/S, the baby is always measuring several days ahead.

Ok, that was confusing. What I was trying to say is that if your EDD is based off of LMP and you typically have short cycles, you could actually be up to about a week further along than they have you at. This could make it seem like baby is early. Really, it would just be because of an inaccurate due date though. If you had a dating u/s and that's how your EDD was determined, the length of your cycles wouldn't matter though.
Re: Short menstrual cycles=early deliver?
i have never heard that.
i was on bc when i got pg, but before that my cycles were every 13 days. i hope that is not true. i'm sure it's not though.
