OMG that has to be a crime! I put this on for my neice about a year ago she was 4 at the time and she still yell "Heeyyyyy you guuuuyysss" when she comes over she is too funny
Ok, true confession: I have not seen Goonies either.
One of my girlfriends teased me about it recently so I went out and bought the DVD at Target but have yet to watch it. I think my 7 year old son has watched it without me already though! Hmmmm, maybe I'll make this our mom / son activity for the evening since today is the last day of school.
I've never seen it. It doesn't sound like something that would interest me, lol.

I've.....(ahem)....never seen it either. And I'm not young. I'm 38. I consider myself a true child of the 80s in every respect and this is one movie I'm horrified to admit that I've never seen. Especially since, as a latch-key kid, I'd come home from school and watch hours of cable TV. I really can't explain it.
For those who have seen it, do you remember the octopus? This seemed to only be in the version that they showed on TBS when we were growing up. It is in the special features part of the DVD I think.

yep! that scene and the one in the convenience store with troy and his friends only show on hbo and stuff.
My DH was horrified when he found out that I'd never seen it. So of course we had to go out that night and get it. I gotta be honest, that's not a movie that you want to see for the first time as an adult. Some of those bad 80's movies should just live in our little kid memories (I think Never Ending Story is a good example--I used to love that one but it would kill me to watch it now.)

I can understand it not being as great seeing as an adult, but I can still watch this movie over and over.

I'm 40. Goonies came out the same year as The Breakfast Club - when I was 16. I've seen The Breakfast Club more times than I can count, but Goonies just always seemed like a kid's movie. Meh, maybe when DS is 10 I'll finally watch it!
I never saw the version with the Octopus until I bought the DVD. This is one of the best movies of all time, along with The Neverending Story, Flight of the Navigator and The Labyrinth

How is it that my BABY is going to be 3?

You have them watching Goonies?
Are you an awesome teacher or what??
GOONIES NEVER SAY DIE!

I teach computers and was done with lecturing last week. We have watched Ratatouille and Wallace & Grommet: Curse of the WereRabbit.

*GASP* I can't believe the amount of people who haven't seen it! As much as I love it, it was much more entertaining when I was younger.
My H has never seen Sixteen Candles.....that is shocking to me. I need to pull him out from under the rock, huh?
This was my go-to movie whenever I had to have a babysitter as a kid. I must have seen it at LEAST 100 times. LOVE IT!!
one-eyed willie's skeleton scared me for some reason though.......
