My husband and I are expecting our first child this December and we will need daycare around February/March of next year. We would like an in-home daycare provider but have no idea where to start looking. I have checked CraigsList and looked into a couple of Churches in are area but haven't had much luck so far. We live in Stone Ridge, VA (Loudoun County near Western Fairfax County). Any suggestions about how to find a licensed, loving, reliable and affordable daycare provider would be very appreciated.
THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!
Re: In-Home Daycare Question!
Congrats GMUbride!
I actually live in Stone Ridge too (in the back end right by Mercer Middle School). I've been taking DD to a licensed in-home daycare since she was 8 weeks. It's in South Riding. She charges $40/day or $200/week, which is very reasonable. She & her assistant are great with the kids - DD LOVES her!
So if you want more info, email me at jessica.a.king @gmail
I went to GMU too... small world!
Not sure if Loudoun County has a site like this, but I did research on in-home providers using the Fairfax County Office for Children website. There aren't any reviews or anything, but it at least gives a complete listing of providers in the area. https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/childcare/search/
You can also see state licensed places by searching on the VA state site: https://www.dss.virginia.gov/facility/search/licensed.cgi
Finally, this is a spreadsheet I made that just shows what people did to find their daycare: https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p6LhXlNI9FdU2cVy0kCNZeQ&output=html
