Well... I actually grew up in Hershey, PA (and worked at Hersheypark) so I am a plethora of info for you.
What info are you looking for? I can tell you off the bat that it's a very clean park, very family-friendly (other than admission prices - LOL) and very safe.
I am not far from there and have been there numerous times. Chocolate World is awesome. If you go around Halloween or Christmas they decorate the park really nice. Great, clean, fun park!
thx. we're going on a Monday so I am not worried about crowds. I am wondering if the park is good for both a 2.5 yr old and twin 11 year olds. I am certain of the latter but not certain about my younger DS.
There are a pretty good number of kiddie rides. Obviously not as many as there are for your 11 year-olds (they are going to have a BLAST!). The new water area is fun and should be much less crowded since it's a weekday (amen for not going on the weekends!). Your 2/5 yo will like Chocolate World. There's a free ride there and AC - a nice place to take a break if it's really hot (FYI Choc World is not IN Hersheypark, but right outside and if you get your hand stamped, you can come and go from the park all day).
ZooAmerica is also attached to HP. NOt a huge zoo, but might be fun for your younger one if you guys need a ride break.
Lancaster is about a 45 min drive from Hershey. There are a slew of places you can stay in Hershey if you want to go back to the park. They also (used to) do a Twilight program where you can buy your tix for the following day, and enter the night before after 5 for free. It was called a "Park Preview". Not sure if they still do that but it's worth checking out the website. If you did that, obviously it would make more sense to stay in the Hershey area. The Lodge is nice and very family-friendly, but there are other places to stay along the 422/322 area (highways).
I hope you have a great time!! Page me if you have any other questions

Also, I was thinking of staying in Lancaster...
