Where is your favorite place to buy maternity clothes?

Re: Where is your favorite place to buy maternity clothes?

  • most of mine came from Gap and Old Navy.  Occasionally I'd find something on super sale at Nordstroms.

I did Old Navy and Motherhood the first time around- most of it is too worn out to wear again.  So now I'm into consignment shops for some of the more $$ brands- japanese weekend, etc.  That way I can still afford it but it might last a bit longer.

  • I'm cheap because you wear those clothes for such a short time so...

or find regular shirts with the empire cut waist on clearance racks. I got a whole bunch when I was pg from Urban Outfitters for like $5 each. They lasted through my entire pregnancy.

Also Costco sells these yoga pants for something like $10. Comfy, drawstring, grows or shrink with you.

For splurges I went to Motherhood Maternity.

  • Mostly Gap, but favorite jeans were the Liz Lange @ Target, and bought a couple pieces for special occasions from Japanese Weekend.

  • I really like Old Navy stuff.
  • I had great luck at Kohls for maternity pants, capris, etc. I also have bought mostly regular (non-maternity) shirts (make sure they're long and have room to stretch) from Kohls, NY and Co and H&M -- the styles were very forgiving and felt more stylish than all the gingham stuff I saw at maternity stores. I bought two dresses from Motherhood for work and the baby shower. I did not spend much at all on clothes and they have lasted nicely.
  • I just got a ton of cute stuff from Ross! $6 Shirts!!!!
  • Old Navy online...easy to return! And motherhood

    Ditto this, plus Target.

  • I had good luck at Old Navy, I had a couple things from Target and a couple from Motherhood.

I really didn't like Motherhood's return policy or the fact that they sign you up for magazines without your consent when you purchase things there...so I stayed away.

  • Motherhood

  • Up until my third trimester I bought most of my stuff online from Old Navy or Gap.  I was also able to use a lot of non-maternity tops that were empire waist in a size or two bigger.

Now I find that it's too hard to buy things online so I've been buying things at Motherhood although I don't care for their tops too much, their pants are OK.

  • Old Navy, Gap, and Target.

I was back east once and bought some really cute stuff at Mimi Maternity (a step up from Motherhood, I believe, but not quite as expensive as Pea in the Pod), but I don't think they have Mimi in the Bay Area.

I found a lot of cute non-maternity stuff that worked as maternity at H&M.

  • I just spent way too much money at Japanese Weekend Maternity - I love that store!   I also have purchased a few basics at Old Navy and some non-maternity (but very wearable) stretchy pieces from Lululemon.
  • The Motherhood Maternity Outlet in Vacaville! My SIL lives in Sonoma, and apparently Vacaville is a lot bigger (still seems small to me).

They have colored dot clearance items- I've gotten shirts that were originally like $40 for $2 (not a typo) and pants for $6.  Love bargain shopping...
