For those you have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes... had you had signs or symptoms prior to being diagnosed?
I have heard that if you have a breakfast full of protein and a small amount of carbs, after exercising, that will "help" you achieve negative test results. Hmmmm ![]()
Re: for those who have gestational diabetes...
First of all... no, I never had any symptoms.
Second of all... if you are HONESTLY even thinking about trying to fake out the test results for GD, you should be smacked over the head. If you do have GD and it goes untreated, your child's life can be placed into jepoardy. Jesus Christ.
well you want to make sure you don't have it. You don't want a big baby or any other more SERIOUS problems that come with having diabetes while pregnant. This isn't one of those tests I would recommend getting "help"... in passing.
I suggest you google GD. One of the most serious thing is death of the LO.
From what was explained to me the more kids you have the more likely you will have GD. Our pancreas's end up getting over worked when caring for our LO's.
This! I didn't have any symptoms either. There are alot of things that can happen if untreated.
I can't believe I am going to say this, but I 100% agree. Why would you TRY to cheat a test like this?? It does you and baby absolutely NO GOOD to pass just for the sake of passing, if you really have it.
Um...are you trying to cheat the GD screen, or are you trying to avoid a false positive? I seriously hope it's the latter, though I'd rather risk failing and taking the three hour to know for sure.
LOL - God no I am not thinking that! Needing a smack in the head is what I was trying to get accross with the "Hmmmm
" perhaps a
would have been better. I was reading on a website about this topic that "helps" I was shocked to see that - wondered if I was the only one.
I hope that you are being serious here and not just trying to redeem yourself. I'm sorry, but I absolutely HATE having GD... my numbers are even lower than normal on the diet, and I want to go back to normal, but I know that I'm doing what's best for my child. People that honestly try to get out of it because it's an 'inconvenience' to themselves, make me sick. Sorry.
My God what is with people jumping down throats and assuming I was talking about myself? I am sorry if it came off that way - I WAS NOT SUGGESTING THIS. I read this somewhere and thought; this cant be true - hench the whole "being on a pregnancy questions board" taaaaake it down.
you talk to your doc yet about the low numbers? Don't let them starve you!
Seriously though; if I really thought this and was really asking as a serious idea; why the hell would I care to --- what was it ---- "redeem myself" honestly - redeem myself from who a bunch of strangers? No. Sorry. I totally agree with you. It's not a light subject and I know maaaany people who get very offended or well, opinionated about the subject. I get that. Just a question though.
Perhaps we need a PSA on how to post questions that avoid any misconstrued interpretations......?
'Cause I read the post and it sure as hell reads like someone was trying to fake out her GD test.
How about....
"Hey I was reading on a board about people trying to fake out their GD tests by eating small meals and exercising etc etc. Can you imagine anyone actually wanting to fake the results?? Discuss"
That would make it seem like you weren't trying to fake out the test yourself (even if you were).?
This (but a little more gently
) - it's very important to get accurate test results.
And no, I did not have any symptoms. Did not have GD with my first pregnancy, either, so I was pretty surprised.
Mama Jan's Kitchen... a food blog
Ladynikon - No one will return my phone calls. Seems as if I'm not that important to the GD specialists.
I've been eating more carbs today and even a little sugar, and my numbers are still in the 100's. I see the actual doctor on Thursday, and I'll tell him everything.
Thanks for remembering!
jeeze people need to calm down in here lol.
I doubt that even trying to cheat the GD test would work. If you have it, it will know. I really doubt what you eat will effect it enough to change your results. but im not a doctor so i dunno.
I was diagnosed GD at 33 weeks after i had already passed a few weeks earlier, controlled it with diet.
I re-tested because I gained like 20 pounds in three weeks and craved nothing but sugar.
Oh several people on here and 2nd have posted about trying to fake it out. It happens.
Remember ?- the gene pool here, despite the lovely graphics, is often as deep as Baby Gaga.?
Me too!!!
ha ha ha; I cannot help but laugh at 90% of the stuff you write on these boards. You really come off as a huge biitch. ha ha. Thats cool. Whatever makes you feel better. But you should be proud.... i for one dont come on here half as much as I normally would because of people like you. Give yourself a pat on that back!

You worded your post in a way that it looked like you were asking if it was possible to cheat the test. I wasn't jumping down your throat (that would have been much more apparent). I was simply confused as to why you were asking - hence me asking which meaning was the correct one. If you're going to complain about someone misunderstanding your intentions on the Internet, and goodness knows that never happens, perhaps you should take a moment to actually read what is being said.
Besides, I've seen several people trying to "cheat" the GD test, so it's not a far-fetched assumption.
lol gawd some peoples kids huh!
Two big

pPROM at 27 weeks, Birdy born at 28 weeks at 2lb 7oz.
"craving nothing but sugar" is NOT a sign of gestational diabetes.
kthnxbye.
