Any husbands take the 6 week leave?

Brian is planning on taking 3 weeks in July when Abby is born and then 3 weeks when I go back.  My question is does he get the foms online or his employer?  I looked on CA website and it's a little confusing.  Any info will help, TIA.

  • Dan took the 6 weeks, he looked online and did the request for a form.

This, you request the form online and they mail it to you.

  • It's probably worth it to shoot an email out to his H/R, though.  They might be able to walk him through the process.  When I was working my H/R was very helpful w/all that stuff and made a very confusing bureaucratic process a lot easier.  :)
  • Mine did, though he's taking it as Fridays off until October instead of as a chunk. He went through his HR dept to complete the paperwork.

  • DH used the leave program. ?He took two weeks after the baby and then used it to supplement his part time work for several months until it ran out. ?His HR dept was absolutely no help and it was totally confusing. ?So it's totally a great thing to use but expect to fill out a lot of forms and wait a weeks to get the checks.
  • Just an FYI make sure he gets the split leave approved because his job doesn't have to let him do it that way and can require he take it all at once.
