Does a person normally keep all their cards they receive at their baby showers? I've received a ton and am just not sure whether to keep or toss them, if I keep them I'm not sure where to put them...maybe in her baby book??? What are you doing??
We are gonna do the same thing we did with the cards from the bridal shower and wedding. We wrote the gift that was goven by that person on the back and put them in a pretty zippered envelope with our other wedding keep sakes.
I usually keep cards from stuff like that for awhile, but eventually end up throwing them away. I gave my sis the idea of the "sign a children's book instead of a card" thing for my shower..so I hope she did it!
I have a shoebox-type box that I got from IKEA. I have cards from showers, after DS was born, his church dedication, his first birthday and other 'first' holidays - with dividers in between. I plan to keep birthday cards each year in the box, too. I'm the kind of person who likes to look through things like that and I want to have them available *if* my boys like to keep them too.
We have a keepsake box for cards and mementos from our wedding, and I plan on doing the same thing for cards and things for the baby. You can get nice keepsake boxes at Hallmark or craft stores, or even just use photo boxes you find at Target.
My hosts are passing around a booklet for everyone to sign a little note to LO then I think we will toss all the cards. I think it will be too much to hold onto and I am trying to not be a pack rat these days. DH thinks I keep too much. Especially cards. Maybe we will just keep the Grandmother cards?
I used to keep cards, but I realized that it was pointless because I never looked at them again. ?I threw away all of my baby shower cards except for one that all of my co-worker friends wrote in. ?I put it in the baby book. ??
I haven't made the jump quiet yet to 3rd, but I lurk a little the last week or so, and after seeing your post, figured i'd send my knowledge for an anwser. When pg with my daughter, I kept all of the cards i got from all of my showers, and decided since there were too many to actually put in her baby book, which I did a scrapbook for, I took all the cards i got, and did cut-outs of all the cute pics or designs on them and wording-qoutes that I liked on them and used the cut outs to use in her scrapbook, and it turned out really cute, you would never know they were the cards, but it makes it a little more memorable that way, just an idea.
my dad gf threw my shower and in the invitations she included a 'baby talk card' where the person was supposed to write a memory of me or DH or a message to the baby or whatever they wanted to say, i put those in DS baby book. I didnt keep the cards from my shower. The only cards ive kept in my life were a few from my 16th bday, all the cards from my wedding, first mothers day, and congrats cards from when DS was born. i think it would be cool if you kept them tho. probably interesting for the baby when they grow up and get to read them
My mom still has all of mine in my baby book. I am not sure what I will do with them. I have a tendency to keep cards for a long time and they just take up space ...

I keep all of my cards from people important in a memory box.
