First let me just start by saying "Hi ladies". I normally post on the 12-24 month board. But I had a question and thought you ladies would be more helpful. (nothing against the 12-24 month board!)
I stopped BF last month and got my 1st PPP on May 2nd. Well dumb me thought oh well I will just track on FF like I had before GP. Yeah right! I tracked as if I had a 30 day cycle. Tracked my O and thought we were good. Well AF is 3 days late now. And I have POAS numerous times. All -. So I thought lets POA ovulation test (is there an acronym for this) and it showed that I am ovulating now. So that would make me a 45 day cycle.
So I guess my question is, are there any other 45 day cyclers out there? And do you think it will get shorter? I am not going to like these LONG cycles and having to wait forever to POAS!! I guess this was also a vent for thanks for letting me vent!
Re: 45 day cycle?
have you taken a pregnancy test? ovulation tests can also show up positive if you are pregnant.
ETA: nevermind. i missed that part of your post!
I am confused as to what you are tracking that you think you already Od. Just CM? My first ovulatory cycle after depo provera was 48 days, last cycle and this one are around 37, so there is a chance they'll shorter as your body adjusts. I highly recommend charting your temp though.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
She said she stopped BF (breast feeding) not BCP....
Anyway, your cycles can be wonky after both stopping BF and BCP. 45 days isn't considered abnormal. 60 days is when to call your doctor. I would chart like you don' t know how long your cycle is supposed to be and see how it goes. If still no AF in a few days, test again. GL.
You did say you just stopped breastfeeding, right? Not BCP? I would be temping and charting if you're TTA right now instead of relying on an ovulation calendar. Your cycle will probably take some time to settle down after BFing so if you want to avoid another pregnancy, use a backup method or chart. There are lots of women on here with 45+ day long cycles. It all depends on when you ovulate. Check out the tutorials on fertilityfriend.com for more info. Good luck!
Your son is a doll!
I'm on CD 57 with no end in sight after what seemed like 2 normal periods when I stopped BCP. My doctor said she'll refer me to an RE if things haven't regulated in the next 3 months.
Good luck though!
I actually wasnt tracking it by anything yet. I just thought I would assume that it would be 30 days like it was before getting pregnant and BF. Well of course that didnt work and I shouldve known. And since AF didnt show I took an O test to see what it showed today. ANd it just happened to be positive.
As soon as AF comes I will start taking my temp. And I am not really sure how to to the CM. I mean to me it all seems the same.
I suggest getting the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility (you can find it at almost any book store or online) or using Fertility Friend. Both are great resources to learn more about CM and how it all works.
Thanks ladies! I will defiantly call my doc if AF hasn't arrived in 60 days and no BFP *keeps finger crossed*. And I will look into the CM charting and start taking my temp. But I guess I have to wait until A arrives to start doing that, correct?
Well right now if you were to start it would get you in the habit of doing those checks.
