Weekly Check-In Post! (BRAND SPANKIN' NEW)

Hi ladies-

A lot of you are getting pretty far along. Some are just starting this fun-filled journey. A few of you have already even had your gorgeous babies (and we are soo very glad you have remained on the board so don't forget to keep checking in). I think we should have a weekly check in post where we check in, post about any cool milestones, tests, ultrasounds, questions, etc that we are experiencing each week. So, here it is. Smile

Jen- 24 weeks - nothing too exciting this week. Nursery is almost done (hutch should be at BRU tomorrow- fingers crossed). Baby is kicking constantly. Makes me wonder what he thinks about all day lol. He has no frame of reference other than his sac so I am not so sure he has much to go on. Teehee

Wrong- your posts are always fun. Everyone loves our lil Shelleygirl :)

  • Great idea!

Mary - 23 weeks - we had a home inspection of the house on the house we are buying. Everything is good except the A/C needs to be looked into. Now, we just need a renter or buyer for our current place. Hopefully that will happen soon as it's a bit tiring to have to live in a place that's 'staged' for showings. Not that any of this is really baby-related but that's what going in my world.

  • Michele - 18 weeks:  All is well in our world!  My OB called this morning and said that my integrated screen results came back today and everything is normal.  She said she would go over the actual numbers tomorrow at my Level 2 u/s appt, but that everything looked great.  Now I'm hoping my next "big" moment will be tomorrow and LO will cooperate and flash the u/s technician Wink  I've been feeling really well and have been getting to the gym at least 3 times a week, so I'm just a happy camper right now!

Hope all of you lovely ladies are feeling well!

  • Lucy - 37 weeks!  Last Wednesday my OB said I was 3.5cm dilated.  But I'm still here.  Haven't felt any contractions or anything to indicate labor is imminent.  Which is a good thing because we just got our crib mattress yesterday!  =)

  • Hi! Kandie is present. 37 weeks pregnant. hardcore dizzy today but otherwise good! Yes
  • Michelle - Well we are 27 weeks now and not much new. One day she kicks all the time, the next she is kind of quiet. DH's coworkers are throwing us a  shower and the invites went out this weekend so that was exciting.
  • Diana, 27 weeks. Everything has been going well (so far). Got a call from my peri who now wants to see me every month for growth scans to make sure the baby is doing okay. I had high blood pressure about a year ago but it's gone now and no meds needed. I'm glad he wants to monitor the baby but it still kind of stresses me out. First of the monthly scans is this afternoon.

  • Kelly - 17 weeks.  Wow, time flies!  We got our Crib last week and put it together.  Today I ordered the matching dresser/change table (grampa is paying for the dresser and gramma paid for the crib - I love how excited my parents are about their 3rd grandkid!). I will also order travel system this week as it's on sale for $50 off!  I see my family doc on Thursday am (hopefully for the final time for this pg - I have my first OB appt at 20 weeks).  We should get some results from recent bloodwork this week and hopefully the scale will show I have finally gained a few pounds!  It's going to be a great week.

  • Great idea, Jen!  Thanks for thinking of this. Yes

Robyn ? 30 weeks and can hardly believe that 3/4 of my pregnancy has passed!  This past weekend I ordered my bedding set from Target, went to Home Depot for paint samples (my DH did the work) and we decided on "Silly Old Bluebird" from Behr's Disney Collection.

My dad used his American Express rewards points to get us our travel system (Chicco Cortina KeyFit 30 in Fuego) and Pack-n-Play (Chicco Lullaby LX in Adventure).  My mom is giving me $$ for the glider I ordered and towards the furniture. So that's a HUGE savings for us.

Otherwise just dealing with sciatica and leg/foot cramps. But feeling pretty good besides that.

  • Bea - 39wks (or so they say-LOL)  - Finally everything is ready!  Bags are packed, finished nursery with the "little things" this weekend, fitted car seat, washed all baby clothes and sorted everything.  Had an OB apt this morning, all looks good, she's still insisting on the C-section due to the large bebe and my PUPPS.  I really don't mind one way or another as long as he's a healthy little one...

  • Mari/ 33 weeks: waiting for my glider to come in this week.  Growth scan on Thurs bc I am measuring 2 weeks behind.  Decided to get a midwife, still actively at gym and swimming.  Doing really great, cleaned the house, no real pains yet.  And just passed my WSET Advanced wine class with merit!

  • Hey, ladies, Petra here! I'm just over 28 weeks and feeling pretty good. Just had my one hour glucose test this morning, so fingers crossed all is well (that orange drink wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it'd be!) Was measuring about 3 weeks ahead, but Dr. not too worried--she said "I didn't expect you'd have a small baby"--DH is 6'3" and I'm 5'11"!

Ordered my crib yesterday online (yay!). And, my sweet MIL offered to pay for it (double yay!!). Can't wait to get it and start setting up the nursery--finally!

  • Kathi - 31 weeks: Still running every day and feeling great. I had an amazing 15-mile run yesterday which made me feel all energized. Little girl is so active all the time. We took maternity pictures on Saturday which was a lot of fun. Crib is finally getting here tomorrow - I ordered back in March! Can't wait to get the nursery done. I am also scoring some major deals on Craigslist and eBay to get everything ready for the little girl.

  • Hello - I havent had much time to post/respond lately.

Anna - 24 weeks, the little man is so active.  Work is causing me some aches and pains but not too bad.  Have a regular OB appt today.  This weekend we moved furniture around and have to sell some stuff (uugghh) so we can paint DS's room and then get started on the babies.  I am sure things are going to fly now in the next 3-4 months!

  • Dawn here - 38 weeks today actually and I am doing pretty good. Found out today that I really can't tolerate the heat (it is 85 here) as I started feeling sick and faint while in Walmart. So here I sit in the a/c... I've also been having horrible issues with acid reflux. But I really can't complain as this has been a relatively easy pregnancy.

Had OB appt. last Friday and am on weekly NSTs. The baby is doing good and my BP has been staying in check. They did tell me that they will not let me go past my due date of June 15th due to my AMA and BP issues, so I know that she will be here sometime in the next two weeks. Hopefully at my next appt. (which is Saurday) I will get an actual date. I've had no action going on 'down' there except that she is moving alot in the AM and more so in the PM.

I have been off work since the end of April due to BP issues so I have had plenty of time to get things ready. I am all set so now I just sit and wait. I have to admit that these last nine months have really gone by quickly.

I hope everyone else is doing good and enjoying this precious time...

  • Gail ... 36w pg with twins and THRILLED to have made it this far!  They could come any day now... but if they don't- my c/s is on June 15th- just 2w from today!! i can't believe it!
  • Melissa - 35 weeks.  Not much to report - had a shower over the weekend, so now I have lots of laundry to do, but once that is done we should be almost ready for baby.  Anyone else worn out by the end of the work day, let alone after doing any baby prep?

    DD1 is 3, DD2 is 1.

Heather - 33 weeks - Little dude likes kicking me in the right ribs and lung. Nursery's sort of coming along, but the cradle my dad made for my 35 years ago is now re-finished and sitting in our bedroom, waiting for the boy.
  • JMM - 30 weeks (due the same day as Robyn!). We're getting close to being ready...DH cleared out the baby's room this weekend and set up the crib. We also bought paint - FINALLY!! We have most of the big stuff...we'll be getting a car seat from DH's brother, and everything else we either had from DS or brought new (on sale/clearance, but new).  Shatner was a bit quiet over the weekend which of course made me nervous, but was back to his usual rambunctious self as of about 2:30 am this morning!

I finally ordered some "big brother" books from Amazon. I hope they get here before LO does!

  • Hi Friends!

Kristina - 27 weeks tomorrow.Just chugging along. Still haven't received the furntiture for the nursery yet which was ordered in March, so hoping it will come in soon. Not that there is a rush but I want to get the nursery done. Walls are painted thats about it.

DH and I are finalizing dayacre this week, it's between two so we are visiting each one more time because we are so torn. We also start baby class this Saturday. Super psyched!

Have my Peditrcian meet & greet next week and GD testing on the 12th.

Dr has me coming in on the on the 17th (3 weeks from last visit) for routine appt and then I start my two week appoitnments. Can't believe it. I just can't believe I am almost in 3rd tri!!

Lastly my shower is set for the 20th.

As you can probably tell I am super anxious. Plus I want to get as much done before August. :-)

    Great post!!

I'm Denise - 16 weeks.  Not a lot going on these days, I think I'm feeling a bit of the 2nd tri energy spurt - I actually cleaned my house relatively thouroughly for the first time in a LONG time over the weekend, and boy did it need it!  DH and I are starting to discuss nursery design, and of course we're complete opposites when it comes to so many things, so we're having a "meeting" on Wednesday night where we are each supposed to come with ideas, paint chips, etc.  Should be exciting - wish me luck with my negotiation skills!

  • Tracy - 35 weeks.  I'm doing okay.  working lots of hours.  I am still walking 3-5 miles but not running anymore.  my stomach doesn't feel good while i run.  my hands and feet are swelling really bad.  doc says everything is good.  i go in friday for an u/s.  i hope everything is good.  i am feeling more like crap lately.  i am tired and having an upset stomach all the time.  the nursery is just about ready.

  • I'm Suzanne & I'm whatever my ticker says today... 17w and change.  Good days and bad days when it comes to the m/s.   Otherwise, pretty good all around.  Still in complete denial, tho, that there is an alien growing inside me! HA!

I'm going to be 42 when the kid arrives and am a little anxious about my big Level II US next week.   I'm already the poster child for crummy odds for Downs, etc, despite all the great measurements early on.

But life is a box of chocolates.. ya never know what you're gonna get!

  • Jen 15 weeks. I am finally home after a whirlwind two weeks. Two weeks ago I took a group of my students?to environmental school, then my inlaws came, and then Wednesday I had to fly to Boston, because my niece was born. I am very glad to finally be able to relax. In ten days I will be out of school for the summer. Last Tuesday, I had my 14 week appointment and all was well. I have an ultrasound on the 22, but we are not finding out the gender.

  • Chandra - 31 1/2 weeks. Holy cow, I can't believe it's been this long! I have been wearing a boot for a stress fracture in my foot for 5 weeks and I got to take it off this weekend so that feels great. I am still moving kind of slowly, and I am feeling a whole lot bigger and heavier this week.  I had an appointment last friday though and my belly is at 33 cm which is perfect Dr. said. Baby is moving like crazy in there, I mostly feel her on my left side, I have no clue what position she is in though. Sometimes it tickles and is really cute, other times not so much.

My shower is being planned by some friends for the 28th, my best friend lives 7,000 miles away in Tahiti and won't be coming this summer to visit at all which totally sucks for both of us.

DH is still sanding and patching the walls and cieling in the nursery. It looks terrible and I am trying to be patient, I know he's doing all he can so I can get it there and do the nesting thing.

We go to Bradley class tonight. Whee.

  • Richelle here- about 28-29 weeks (whatever the ticker says).  I just had an OB appt. today and had to take the glucose test.  I agree with Petra- the orange drink wasn't too bad, and I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for normal blood sugar results.  Baby's heartbeat is good, and things seem to be going nicely.  I suppose nothing will stop me from completely worrying (I had a scare earlier on re: size of baby's head, but have been told that all is well).  I feel guilty since I haven't done anything to baby's room, but I only have this week and next week, then school is out for the summer, so I figure I have plenty of time to get everything done, right...right?

  • Carla - 16 weeks

I am still in NY/CT visiting with my Dad. ?He's still in ICU, on the ventilator and the doctor said yesterday they want to do a tracheotomy. ?The sedated him and put him in restraints yesterday after he pulled his NG tube out twice and was figeting with his vent tubes. ?The pneumonia contained two bacteria - one that is very resistant. ?It's been a very tough week and I have to go back home tomorrow, which is going to kill me. ?I spend a minimum 12 hours a day in the hospital in his room. ?

And on top of all of that - I have cankles!!!! I also have my 4 month appointment on Thursday morning.?

  • Lyla - 19.5 weeks.  If I didn't have a cold, I'd be feeling pretty good right now.  I think I've felt some small baby movement in the past few days but I really can't tell for sure.  My big ultrasound is tomorrow so I'm excited to see if its a boy or girl.
  • Amy - 21 weeks! ?I am just back from 4 days in the hospital, I had pre-term labor! ?No one is sure what happened, and I seem to be okay now. ?Baby is still there, and I am still waiting on my amnio results. ?I have my anatomy ultrasound on Friday. ?While I was in the hospital, the tech noted that I may have a 2-vessel cord. ?My doctor will check it Friday.

  • Lori - 5 weeks, first pregnancy.  Just got my lab results back from my first appt.  Beta at 16DPO was 1331!  They think it could be twins, but we won't know until my first u/s on June 17.  Oh boy!  I am a twin myself (fraternal) and know that I have a disposition due to my age, weight, height and having it on both my mother's and father's side.

They also discovered that I have an asymptomatic UTI and I am on a week's worth of antibiotics to clear that up.  Tongue Tied  I have only had one once before and I definitely knew it!  So this was a surprise.

Other than that, just dealing with waves of nausea, weepiness, fatigue and sore boobies!  Excited to be expecting!

  • Great idea Jen!!

Hi! I am Dianna - 23 weeks - our 1st baby and so very excited! All has gone really well, am feeling great, walking every day has really helped keep my energy up!

Am flying on Friday to join my husband for 2 weeks on the ship he is on (he is an officer for Royal Caribbean Cruise line) and will be in Alaska - really looking forward to it as I haven't seen him for 3 weeks and miss him!!

Have a nice evening ladies and love reading your posts!

  • Jennifer - I have a 4 month old tommorow!! I can't believe it! It seems like literally yesterday that I was on this board... I guess I'm back until they give us a parenting over 35 board!
