My top 3 girl names are:

Rylan (no nn)

Adelina (nn Addy)

Jolene (nn Jo)

thoughts? Im not having much luck coming up with middle names, so any ideas there also appreciated. we find out boy/girl next week & we want to have a name ready either way (boy name already decided as jackson).

Jolene is nms but I do love the song! (Dolly Parton).

I like Rylan and Adelina. They are both different than the typical names but they aren't weird where she'd get picked on. Jolene seems to me like an adult name not so much a baby name. Also, my middle name is Jo and when I was young I always used to get picked on for it because "its a boy name." I really like Rylie for a girl name and DF loves it but....for a boy!

Rylan (no nn) - I think of this as a boy's name

Adelina (nn Addy) - Adelina is okay but I don't like Addy

Jolene (nn Jo) - I think of the Dolly Parton song. It's ok.

Rylan is a boys name to me.

Adelina is ok, but seems 'off' to me, probably the spelling but not sure how to change it either.

Jolene is a fine name, but NMS I'd hate having my daughter called Jo

Rylan sounds like a boys name to me and I'm not a fan of Jolene. I do like Adelina but variations on the name are becoming very common if that's important to you.

I've known 3 students named Jolene and everyone of them was super ditzy. It makes me think of someone with no common sense whatsoever.

I strongly prefer Adelina/Addy to the others. I like Adeline or Adelyn a bit better though. The other 2 seem too country to me.

I was lurking and noticed your name choices - which I really like BTW. I just wanted to say that we had Rylan at the top of our boys list and when we found out we were having a girl we shortened it to Ryla. We thought it was more feminine for a girl and we love how unique it is.

I love Rylan! I still think of it as a boy's name but it could be cute on a girl, too. I would go with a really girly middle name, like Rylan Elizabeth.

Adelina is beautiful! You could use Addy or Lena/Lina as a nickname. I'm not a fan of Rylan or Jolene at all (they sound plain compared to Adelina).

ladies thanks for all your thoughts. just wanted to add that I am going for a country sounding name. Both Adelina & Jolene are from country songs (george strait song & dolly parton song). I saw Rylan on this board and my dh's name is Ryan and thought it would be cute. Im waiting on opinions from dh now!
