I have been "demoted"

a friend of mine asked left me a comment on FB about getting together for the hockey game at a local bar.  I texted her back and asked her if the bar was smoke free and she said no, but they have a deck [mind you it still get's pretty cold here in the evenings] so I suggest that maybe we hit up a local restaurant that has big screen tvs and a non-smoking section.  Well that idea was shot down and she told me that "you will need to come over on a week day when I'm there!"   SERIOUSLY? So I guess now that I'm pregnant and am one of those types that refuses to be in a setting that involves smokers for any extended period of time I have been demoted to only week day activity!!  I guess she's not willing to give up an occassional weekend to visit...  nice right?  Well I just had to share this story because while it irritates me [I'm extremely emotional these days] I also find it to be slightly amusing!!  Sorry for the vent!

    No, you have a right to be upset! I don't think that it is too much to ask not to have to inhale everyone else's gross smoke for hours. Not cool and your friend should really think of that.

    My two girlfriends, our husbands and I previously had plans to either go camping or go to an indoor waterpark. Since I got pregnant, I told my friend that I wanted to go camping instead of the waterpark because I"m not sure if I can go on the rides and I know I can't go in the hot tub. Also, I don't feel like running around in a bathing suit right now since I've gotten poochie. My friend told me that I could "suck it up" and that the lazy river is the best part so I could just do that. I really wanted to ask her "Do you really expect me to ride the lazy river for 10 hours?" Boring!!

     Non supportive friends... Not cool!!

    No that's not cool!  How would she feel if you told her to "suck it up"?  I guess one day these people will understand what it's like to be expecting and how things are going to change!

    i feel your frustration. some 'friends' from work think im a party pooper when i dont want to walk down the street to the pub and grab a beer after work anymore. i know i could still get an o'douls or something, but that place is smoky!

    I can't believe so many states still allow smoking inside open to the pubic buildings.
