2nd Trimester

Stupid rude people!

So the school I teach at had its commencement ceremony on Friday night. Of course, I was dressed in one of the new dresses I bought from Motherhood, which I think looked pretty good (considering the average weight gain so far). One of the other female teachers of staff was clearly laughing at me...quite openly. I asked her what was so funny but she couldn't answer because she was laughing so hard. I walked away in disgust momentarily, then I decided to return to ask again. (For all I knew I had something hanging off my face or something!). I asked again, and the female staff member sitting next to the laughing one said, "It's ok, she's laughing with you".

To which I replied, "Well, since I'm not laughing yet, why don't you share what is so funny so we CAN laugh together?"

So the laughing staff member said, "It's just...you look so cute in your dress."

Hmmm. Why is that amusing? Suddenly I have a belly and a rack of boobs and this is funny? (I've always been 'petite'). I ended up just rolling my eyes in disgust and walking off.

And these people are supposed to be my friends? Hmmm

  • some people are so rude! I am sure you looked great in your new dress!
  • They are NOT your friends if that is how they were behaving.

Maybe they were doing psychedelics? Do they have a history of drug abuse? I can think of no other reason they would act like such giggly jerks at such an inappropriate time.

Do not give these weirdos the time of day anymore. How immature! Are they educators?

  • Rude! I'm right there with you tonight. I'm petite as well so I understand. People are just plain rude sometimes. I'm positive you looked amazing!
  • You're nicer than me, I would have laughed back and openly stated how I'm laughing at how she's a jackass...
  • That calls for a throat punch. Bah.

  • It is amazing how people think they can act towards pregnant people.  So annoying.  You are due the same day as me....my newest irritation is the, "Wow you have gotten so big!"  Thanks....
  • If you were so cute and she was supposedly on your side then why would she luagh like that? People have no manners, and knowing you're pregnant, she has to be so rude. I'm a petite person who has gained TOO much baby weight, so I get giggled at... then asked "oh are you pregnant?" UHHH... DUH! Thanks for luaghing at me first. I just shrug them off and proudly display my pregnant belly. It's my badge of proud motherhood. Although a good smack across her face would have been a good wake up call.
