NT scan, quad screen, sequential screen

Is anyone forgoing these optional tests? I'm not so sure I want to do them. From what I understand (please correct me if I am wrong!), they do not give a positive or negative, just a likelihood that the baby would have certain conditions. The more conclusive test (CVS) is more invasive. Even if the CVS was positive, what would I do then? I (personally) would not end the pregnancy. So...I'm thinking about not having them. Anyone else?

    I didn't have the NT Scan and I haven't regretted it.  I am worrier by nature and it just wouldn't help me in anyway..it would just stress me out.  It is totally a personal choice, but my dh and I decided against it.

    This makes me feel better. I'm a worrier too, and I'm afraid that any results would make me panic the entire rest of the pregnancy. I was afraid that not wanting the tests made me a bad mommy-to-be. I'm glad I am not alone. Thanks *hugs*

    We are not having the NT scan (we didn't with DD either.)  We wouldn't elect to do the further testing (CVS or amnio), so we are skipping the scan.  In a perfect world, we could have the scan and have the numbers come back with very low odds, but I don't want to chance it.  I would hate to have the odds come back slightly high (1 in 250/1 in 500/etc.) and then worry the rest of the pregnancy.

    My doc doesn't do them as optional. ?She has all her patients do it. ?If I had a doc that DID do it as optional, I would definitely do them.

    If something came up that we were not expecting such as Downs etc, I would never terminate the pregnancy but would use the time I had left in the pregnancy to do special preparations so I could be as ready as possible for a special needs child to come into our lives.?

    We have decided to not have the sequential screening done.

    I will not have them done with this preg, and didn't with DS either. I am very low risk, and would rather not have the stress if the odds come back "high".
