Parenting after a Loss

Poop is a little hard

On Sat, DD had a bm that was part normal and part hard.  Yesterday she did not have a bm (which she has been averaging every other day),  If she has one today and I see the hardness again, should i call the pedi?

Re: Poop is a little hard

  • I wouldn't just yet.  With DD, some days she has a really hard one and then the next time it'll be a soft, mushy mess.  I can't pretty much count on it.  Maybe see what happens over the next week.

  • we had poop issues since he was about 6 weeks old; per our pedi, a babies digestive system is still working on forming on a daily basis.  So, what is normal and common today, may not be tomorrow.  Just keep an eye on you LO, if there doesn't seem to be any discomfort or strain your LO should be OK.  However, if you're anything like me, you'll call anyway!  GL!

  • Max has the same issue.  I talked to my pedi at his regular 2 month appointment and she said not to be concerned unless it didn't have any color or if he was struggling and crying alot.
