ILs came to visit this weekend and MIL kept trying to help out with everything, which was helpful at times--not so helpful at other times. The main not so helpful part was when she decided to wash all the bottles (something I would never ask her to do) and apparently, she just filled up the sink, let the bottles/nipples soak for a few minutes and then rinsed them without scrubbing them with a brush or anything. Let's just say they were far from clean. It was really gross...
So then, because DH's family doesn't communicate and we can't possbly risk offending MIL, I had to get DH to distract MIL whenever I was getting a bottle ready (which of course, she wanted to do) because I had to rewash it without her noticing what I was doing. I'm so glad this weekend is over
Re: gross! (MIL vent)
Everytime I visit my ILs I am gross out by the fact that they use the same sponge to clean everything, it's old and smelly and not clean itself.
I wouldn't hesitate to tell your mil (in a nice way ofcourse) how you need things to be done. Say, "the pediatrician says..."
