Re: i don't agree with it, but damn

  • I don't approve of it, but I wouldn't murder over it...and it makes me question the safety of our church too

  • I saw that.  I just dont understand why.

eta: I just don't understand why a group who stands for life could committ murder.

Not sure what direction we are headed. Either way, I am up for the ride.
  • How can someone claim a prolife stance murdering??

*I know people who murder doctors who perform elective abortions are a very small sliver of the prolife movement.

    This.

  • I also will never understand how murder justifies anything.

Just to clarify- the article did not state that the person they have in custody is in any way related to any Prolife organizations.

To give another perspective, or possible motive behind this, the person who murdered him may have lost a child/grandchild because of him.  DH recently confided in me that when he was 22 his GF got pregnant.  She went in to have an abortion and he and her Mom found out about and went there to try to stop her (or at least let her know she had other options).  When they got there they hadn't done the abortion yet, but the nurses and admin staff prevented them from speaking with her and wouldn't even go back there to inform her they were there.  They even called the cops on them.

That ended pretty much any relationship they had (they had just broken up when she found out, but DH says he would've been there for her as a friend and Father of her child) and DH still has not really forgiven her for that.  But he feels more anger towards the nurses and admin. staff that prevented him from speaking with her more then he feels anger towards her.

ETA:  I am in NO WAY justifying murder, btw!  There is nothing that makes that OK!  I'm just saying we shouldn't jump to conclusions that the person who killed him did it because he's ProLife.  He probably is, but until the facts are learned we shouldn't assume.

Good valid points!  I just made the assumption because all of the other cases I have read like this, were done by pro-life groups.

Not sure what direction we are headed. Either way, I am up for the ride.
  • I stopped reading the article, did it say he was murdered because of his job?  They could have had a different dispute.

Good point. Thanks for pointing out my assumption. There are many other reasons he may have been murdered.

     I agree.

It was not a "group." It was an individual.

This. Although I hope he was just a member of the group that took it too far, not a representative of the group as a whole.
