I don't have one but am thinking of ordering one. ?But how can you tell you are listening to the baby's heartbeat and not your own?

    You have to time it.  Your heart rate is much slower than the babies.

    If you get a digital one, it will display the HR for you, making it a bit easier. If you find something under 100, it is yours, over 100 is probably the baby's (unless you are really worked up or just exercised!)

    they are completely different... my baby's was around 170 at 10 weeks pg, and mine was 77

    The baby's hb is about twice as fast.

    In addition to the digital display, the baby's HB sounds like a galloping horse because its fast. ?It sounds different than your own HB and is, obviously, much faster.

    You will DEFINITELY know the difference when you hear it. ?Yours is slow and the babys is really fast. ?I knew the difference instantly when I was at the docs without her even saying anything. ?Its cool!
