IHO MarBear...My Mom always used to "dethaw" meat prior to cooking.

Which, I always assumed was proper.  Now, though, I LOL.  De-thaw.  Uhhh...not so much, mom.  hehehee...

 Anyone else have a funny momism you'd like to share?

    My dad says that his FIL (my mom's dad) says his name in 3 syllables.  His name is Jim.

    Not exactly the same thing, but when I was a kid, my brother convinced me that the inside of a cadbury egg was a real raw egg.  I know now that that's not true, but I still can't bring myself to eat them.

    This kinda ties MarBear & Army's threads in together ... when I was PG my mom told me not to press on my belly button because it could twist DD's umbilical cord.  Uh, no, Mom.  Our belly buttons are not connected together.

    She also calls eggs "chicken periods". Ick!

    LOL!  We say that here in TN too!

    And yes, we also use three syllables to pronounce a one syllable name Stick out tongue
