Im "that" mom

DH is taking me fishing tonight so my mom is watching DD and im so lost without DD and keep getting weepy

My mom is great with DD and I know shes having a good time (about to go to bed) but when I put her in my sisters car, my sister is going out there for card night with dad, she cried and was reaching for me :( she got over it quickly when she noticed the other kids in the car

I am so tempted to tell DH to unhook the boat from the truck so I can go get her, but we really need this night out together

  • im sorry.that must be tough.

and in the same sense i can not relate at all and im sitting here dumbfounded that people can't spend a night away from their kid.

  • I did the same thing when my parents took DS for the night.  I got over real quick when I realized I'd get a full night of un-interruped sleep!!!
  • Go and have fun! She will be fine!

We just went on a 7 day cruise ealier this month without DS and we all survived! It was hard to leave him, but once we left I was in vacation mode and fine. Half way through the week, I called home and I never should have b/c that made me miss him even more! It was so nice to have a week away from all of the housework (including washing bottles) and a week away from work!

This is not the first time DD has been away from us, it was the way she was crying and reaching for me to take her back that breaks my heart.

But, you know she will be okay with your Mom, you said that yourself. So, then it becomes more about you not wanting to leave her, kwim??

    Either way, have fun fishing!

  • I can relate. I hate to be away from my DS --- bad enough I barely see him from working so much anyway.
  • I know the feeling....I had been saying for months how I needed a night out, and when it happened, I cried after leaving my ds.

  • I'm totally the same way...we havent been away overnite from DS yet and the IL's are keeping him in a few weekends for the nite for DH and I to have a nite downtown and stay over at a hotel the nite before a friend's wedding. I'm already sad thinking about it. But I'm also used to being with him all the time too. I hope u enjoyed your time fishing with DH!
