    I'm getting my DH a soon to be daddy tool belt with all of the things he'll need when our little one shows up and some fun things.  Goggles, thongs, rubber gloves, some diapers, a burp cloth, some fun toys.

    An Airport Express to broadcast music from our computers to our receiver/stereo.  We had one and it broke.  He wants a new one.

    ETA: I'll probably get my Dad a phone call.  He does not need any more stuff.  Or maybe a gift certificate to a restaurant.

    I ordered him a t-shirt on Etsy that says "Seth thinks I'm the best Dad ever". I know he likes all those dad shirts, and this one of course is personalized :)

    I'm also getting him a sake set (pitcher and 4 little cups) and some organic sake- he loves it and every time we go for Japanese food he says he would like to get a set.

    I was thinking on making a list of "101 Things that make you a good father" list and printing it pretty and framing it.  There aren't a lot of material things DH wants, he's pretty minimalist.  I got him a travel toiletry case for his Bday and he was elated.  I don't know how I can top that!

    I have complete faith that you can pull it off "Well, I know you just LOVE fish, so I thought you would enjoy these!" I also think you should perfect your hidden camera technique in the meantime so that we can all enjoy the reaction ;P

    LOL!  Unfortunately, the hidden camera is not possible.  FIL lives 1,500 miles away.  I'd have to ship the little delicacies.
