Help getting your "old" body back; or getting a new one?

I saw a post from early this morning that I liked.  I think BugLuv may have posted it?  Here's my version:

Are you or would you consider getting plastic surgery/augmentation after having kids?  Please no flaming!

I have talked to my DH about having breast augmentation after we're done having kids if I am unhappy with the way I look.  I would also like to have my spider veins and old stretch marks removed.  If after working out I still have a "tummy" that won't go away I may consider a tummy tuck.  I personally don't care how I look to others (except DH) but I want to look good and feel good about myself.

Re: Help getting your "old" body back; or getting a new one?

  • no flames from me- i had a breast aug a while a go, and i def. recommend waiting until you are done having kids. i have a CRAZY amount of stretch marks on them because my skin was stretched to the max before pregnancy (i had almost no breast tissue) and now i look like a zebra haha.  in regards to erase the stretch marks, i don't think so- my dh is the only one who see's them so it personally doesn't bother me that much to waste the cash.

if you're worried about your mid section, have you considered purchasing a tauts from babooshbaby.com?  its a binding thing from brook burke- i bought two as well as a baboosh body for helping with the workouts.  you might want to look into it if you're dedicated enough to workout to lose the lbs.

    good luck

If I had unlimited amounts of money I might consider doing something about a big ol' flabby tummy if I end up having many kids.  But unless we win the lottery or make tons of money, I'm not considering any sort of augmentation.  I have been able to remain farily fit during this pregnancy and plan to work to get back to a similar form of my pre-preg body.  I realize that my body will likely never be the same and I am very ok with that.

  • after we are done having kids dh and i already discussed getting a breast lift/augmentation... nothing crazy but i used to be larger and lost a lot of weight and just going back and forth between little and big my breasts are definitely saggy, i would love to not always have to wear a bra as for any other procedures i would definitely do what i can to try to "fix" it with exercise and diet first but sometimes you need a lil help and if you can afford it why not!
  • I felt really great after having my ds. ?I was a tad flabby, but could wear a bikini if I wanted to. ?So, hoping I have the same bounce back with number 2, no plastic surgery for me. ?BUT, my issue is varicose and spider veins thanks to my genetics. ?This I do plan on doing. ?I think everyone has their own "problem" areas and feeling confident and comfortable with yourself will help to be a better person/mommy. ?So go for it!
  • I was considering a breast aug. before I got pregnant due to the drastic difference in sizes, I too have some hideous spider viens that I want removed. A friend of mine got hers done and she looks awesome. I think if you are doing it for yourself to make you feel better than its completely worth it!

    this is for me...

  • I'm definately getting my veins taking care of in my legs. I've had them since HS but since getting pg (2) times now - they are B-A-D =/ I look like my Grandma, lol. Ick.

I'd also love to get my boobs done (bigger) but DH likes them as is so that's a no-go ;)

  • My mom can still wear a bikini.

I'm hoping that the apple didn't fall to far from the tree. Smile

  • I would consider a tummy tuck if my skin remains stretched out and baggy.  They look very painful though so I'd put some serious thought into it!  I would also consider a breast lift (no aug though, they're already big enough pre-pg!).  If money permitted, of course!
  • I definitely plan to look into a breast lift and augmentation if I'm not happy with the way I look after giving birth.  I'd actually planned on having it done, along with a nose job, before I got pregnant, so if I feel the same way later, I'll do it.
  • I really want to get my body back through diet & exercise, but if I'm still saggy after that then I'd definitely consider a tummy tuck/boob job. Then I'll feel like I've earned it!
  • I had lost 50 lbs a few years ago and kept it off with a good diet and tons of excersise. Regardless my tummy was still flabby. So I deff plan to get a tummy tuck and breast lift after I stop breastfeeding.
  • I have already talked about this with hubby. I have always wanted a nose job and we said after we were done having kids (and had saved up) I could get it along with a lift. I plan on loosing a bunch of weight before then so that would be last. I would say if after loosing the weight I still have a tummy that wouldn't go away I would?probably?get a tuck. Just because I have a child I don't want to look "matronly" :)
  • Given how huge my boobs are now, for my frame, I would definitely consider getting them reduced and/or lifted. I'd also be down with having any excess skin removed off the tummy area if I lose all the weight I hope to after this baby - not sure if it will shrink back or just sag since I plan to lose it at a reasonable pace.?

  • DH and I have talked about breast aug. and if we can afford it I might get a lift.  I'd love to get a tummy tuck but it all depends on how I feel and the money issue.  I guess we shall see after we are done having kids.

This. Absolutely. I've wanted a reduction since high school.
