DH took a father to be class and we took a prenatal birthing class. Personally all they did was tell what was going to come, and when in labor you forget and really don't care. A breastfeeding class would be informative especially if you have issues w/ it.
I hated my birthing class, b/c I'm one of those people that doesn't need to know all the gory details about birth. I would have much rather had a parenting class or lactation class for sure.
I took an 8 week Bradley class (WAAAAY too long) and it was useful but a little much. ?It did, however, include labor, new baby care, and BF. ?I think the BF was the most useful. ?The labor and new baby care you can pretty much get just by hanging out on this site.?
We did. We took the Infant and child CPR, Prepared Childbirth, and Basics of Baby Care.
Even if you decide not to take classes, I would TOTALLY reccomend going on a tour for expecting parents. Our hospital offered them a few times a week and the tour really let me visualize what was going to happen and know where to go when it did happen.
Birthing class sucked and was a waste of time. I would just read a book like The Birth Book from Dr. Sears or another one. The breastfeeding class was great! Very helpful. The hospital tour was good - only an hour but helpful!
Re: Did you sign up for any of the classes...
