A little worried about medication

I am going in tomorrow for my baseline bloodwork and ultrasound to start our 3rd injectible cycle with Follistim. I was still holding out for a break cycle miracle, so I waited until I offically started my cycle -- which was today. The pharmacy said they cannot get the Follistim to me until Tuesday. Monday is cycle day 3.

Do most doctor's have emergency vials for situations like this or is it possible to start the Follistim one day later or do you have to start on Day 3?

I am having a mini-freak out about this! Thanks!

Re: A little worried about medication

  • My clinic had meds on hand though I never had to use them.  A friend of mine did use them one time.  I'm sure the clinic has contingency plans for this type of situation.

Thank you! That is what the pharmacy said -- she said to see if the doctor has some on hand tomorrow and then I can just replace it when my medication arrives...but I am just a little anxious thinking they might not have it. I have to imagine they do though for situation just like this.

     Thanks again!

  • I know my clinic has a secret stash that they use for emergencies. I didn't have enough meds for my last day of stims and they gave me what I needed for free.

    I wouldn't worry about it.

    Good luck.

  • I've done three injectable cycles and I didn't start stims until CD 4 for various reasons (b/c my pharmacy didn't have them in stock and b/c I couldn't get to the clinic to do baseline until CD 4).  My RE says the difference between starting stims on CD 3 and CD 4 is insignificant.  Hope this helps.

  • I started stims on CD4 and CD3 with my cycles.  I actually had a better response when I started on CD4...I'm sure it was a coincidence!

  • Also chiming in to say that my clinic would be OK with me starting on CD4 instead of CD3. ?GL to you!

  • Mine does too!  I wonder if there is a big difference in starting on cd3 or cd4.
