Adoption

OMG - I'm crying at work. . .

Working in a hospital, I can tell you for certain: you never know when your time on this earth may end.  Don't ever hesitate to share your love with those important to you.

Because I got a little emotional writing about my Dad for the GTKNF - Hero topic below, I decided to let him know what I thought about him.  I copied my response from the post and e-mailed it to him at work.  This was my Dad's reply to me:

"With tears in my eyes, thank you.  You always were the best thing that ever happened to me.  You gave me the drive to accomplish so much because of my love for you and your mother.  I believe I have told you of one moment when you were barely a week old and I held you and you barely filled both my hands, I never loved any one or thing so much as that moment.  That instant was so intense that it has lasted the rest of my life.  I hope and pray you will feel the same when our grandchild arrives.

They say the measure of your life is your children.  I have been blessed with you.  You and (DH) will be outstanding parents and that is my reward."

Ya'll, I just totally had a breakdown!  I know that those of you who already have children know exactly what my Dad is talking about.  And for the rest of us, our time will come. . .

2 years TTC with 5 losses, 1 year recovering, 6 months applying for adoption approval, and almost a year waiting for a placement. Then, a miracle BFP at age 36!
