You don't need a specific wool wash. Baby wash and lnasinoh will work just fine. Here is a blog post that I wrote that explains how I wash/lanolize all of my wool. And, just for fun, you may want to read this one as well.
The easiest I've used, by far, is Northern Essence liquid wool wash from moderndiapers.com. I also like spray lanolin from here.
You want to retain as much lanolin as possible. Lanolin is a fat, which reacts chemically with the basic properties of urine to create soap. Thus, the wool "self-washes." It's freaking awesome.
Woolite is pretty harsh for wool, actually, despite the name. I usually use maybe a tiny, tiny bit of Dr. Bronner's... but really, I don't wash my wool (unless there's poop on it). I just re-lanolize. I've never had a problem.
You can use baby shampoo but that can be harsh, too, due to the tear-free aspect of it (you wouldn't think... but it has to do with the pH). You can use olive oil soap or other gentle soap. Or a bit of blue Dawn. If you really want to buy wool-specific soap, though, you can... Eucalan and Soak are pretty popular for knitters (and bonus-- they're usually formulated so you don't have to rinse out the soap!).

I guess that never occurred to me because I don't use a tear-free baby wash. I use CA Baby with no issues. I'd assume that most baby washes used by the mama's on this board would be just fine. Really, I only use one or two drops of baby wash to emulsify the lanolin.

This is true! Most of us probably don't use Johnson & Johnson which is, like, the tear-free baby shampoo mecca.
Re: Woolite?
Is that bad? I'm new to this wool thing. What wool wash would you rec?
