New job update (for anyone who cares) ;-)

I'm just going to c&p this from my FB note so I apologize if you've seen it.

Since some of you have asked...

There's not much to say since the first couple of days were just orientation on the company policies and culture. From what I can gather just from the info and everthing those who came in to speak had to say, it's a great company and you get out what you put in (makes sense, right?) I'm already thinking ahead to where I can progress to and looking at that promotion track and that is keeping my mind right and my eye on the bigger picture. Now, all that might change when we actually start training and handling my great people from the northeast area of the country (please, be nice NYers, please!). Lol.

Anyway, you can sense the excitement of some who work there -- so I take that as a hopeful sign. I desperately need this to be better than my last rep adventure. The HR manager is all kinds of energetic and live ... she scares me a bit though. Super friendly but you can tell she does not play. I will be staying on her good side. My training class is fairly small and they are pretty easy-going, friendly people so I'm happy about that. And, after listening to the director (again, friendly!) speak I feel better about not feeling like it's "just a customer service job" or that they will hire just anyone.

It has been an adjustment having to get up early and be somewhere but I'm adapting. Amarah seems to be doing fine without me --- she conned a new doll, clothes and shoes out of my mom yesterday so I'd say she's good. ;-) I'm glad because I was very concerned about leaving her. And, luckily, I'm so busy I don't have much time to focus on missing her. The hardest part is finding the energy to spend time with her when I get home ... mama just wants to sleep. But, we're making it happen and I'm going to try to spend some quality time this weekend.

Sooooo .... pretty boring stuff. I'll let you know how it goes as training starts and maybe my brain won't overload on all of the diff. plans and features and whatnot. I really do appreciate all the kind words, support and encouragement. Thanks for thinking of me (and A). You all are the best!

***so much for "not much to say." You know how I do.***

*edit: there was one point on Thursday I wanted to bolt but I got over it.*

  • Thanks. It's amazing how much better I feel actually having a purpose (besides parenting) and getting to dress up. My sister said, "awww, you look so cute. You look nice when you actually get dressed." She's so sweet, huh?

I love your sig of the littlest one, Jorie. It made me smile.

    Thanks!

That was really sweet of your sister to say.  It really is amazing how different you can feel when you get yourself all done up, do something productive (that doesn't involve your child), and have some adult interaction!

  • I'm glad it's going well so far! I hope you end up enjoying it there.
