DD has such painful gas that after every feeding she cries and turns red with her bottom lip quivering. We are doing everything we've read - feeding her upright, keeping her upright after eating, burping her mid feeding, feeding every 2-3 hours, good latch on, even gripe water. Still no relief for her. We're a bit on the crunchy green side so we're hesitant to use Mylicon but we're desperate. I feel awful because a - she's in pain and b - it's keeping us from really getting to know and enjoy her.
Any advice would be great...thanks!
Re: 2wk old DD's painful gas breaks my heart -Help!
try mylicon and bicycling her legs.
I was right there with you! Hang in there, it gets better as they get older. I am super "crunchy" and the Gripe Water did nothing for us... we finally used Mylicon and that helped a little. I completely cutout all dairy and that helped SO MUCH. DD would fuss mid-feeding and now that I have cut out dairy she doesn't fuss at all. When I accidently eat something with milk protein, she is a wreck!! I would try cutting dairy out and see if it helps.
My uncle is an ER nurse and he gave us a trick that they use in the hospital. Lay your LO on their side and rub their back in a?circular?motion for 2-5 minutes ... then flip and repeat on the other side. It sounds simple but with every flip DD would usually let out a huge fart. It helped to move her gas bubbles down. ?
I really hope your DD gets some relief. I used to cry right along with my DD when she would that young. Its so hard to work through. Hang in there! ?
