What do you do when someone suggests a name you hate?

Whenever people ask about names and I tell them we are having difficulty finding a boy name, they inevitably begin suggesting names. ?Some have been truly hideous, while others are just not my taste. ?How do you respond when people suggest a name to you that you don't like?

I always just say we will have to keep that in mind when we sit down to discuss them. It seems to pacify them. Now if only someone would give us something good to name our little girl..... Boys names were a cinch in comparison.

Honestly my dad suggested "Studabaker" with the nickname Stud.

My response was "Yeah.....that will go on the long list dad"

It's only happened a couple times, but I've always been honest. "Not a fan," or just "I don't like that name."

I just say "uhhhm, yeah...no." ?No joke. I don't sugar coat things.

Ditto... don't suggest names unless you can take rejection is my motto!

I would probably say something indirect like "I hadn't thought of that one" or "that's different". I also tell people I like traditional names and then can say that a name reminds me of a student that I don't want to name my child after!
